Okay...sad to say so guys but I think I'm only writing 1 more chapters and an epilogue to this story. My muse just really hasn't been with this story. Please don't hate me. Pictures of the Bristow, Sloane, and Vaughn house are pictured at the end of the two chapters along with the outfit Sydney wears to her own grad party.
And pictures of what Nadia, Jacqueline, Francie, and Vaughn are wearing. I got
a little carried away.
Please R&R and will have the last chapter and epilogue up soon.
Chapter Eighteen
Sydney called Jacqueline and Francie and told them all about last night’s events. She gushed about her fight and her make-up with Vaughn. Francie fell over from laughter and dropped the receiver on the floor and Jacqueline politely laughed. The party was only one day away and she needed to start kicking it into gear to get ready. Sydney finally decided that today, would be the day that she would ask her mother the BIG question about who that girl was on the folder.
Mrs. Bristow arrived home around noon and Sydney was cleaning away like mad for tomorrow. When Sydney saw her mother walk by the room she was busy cleaning she decided to seize the opportunity.
“Mom…” Sydney started.
“Yes Sydney?”
“Well…I kind of have something I would like to tell and ask you.”
“Oh My God have you and…” Irina started but didn’t get to finish because Sydney interrupted knowing what would be at the end of that sentence.
“EWWWWWWWW No Mom! I saw a picture of a girl who looked liked me and I remember playing with her when I was younger with Jacqueline. Who is she and could I meet her?”
“You weren’t supposed to find out about this.” Irina said and sighed.
“Why?”
“She is your half sister and Jacqueline’s half sister. Our two families put her up for adoption once we found out that it was Arvin’s child, not Jack’s. I had an affair Sydney. We like in this perfect little subdivision in the perfect city living the perfect life and to admit something that big would be a massive shocker and we figured that it would be better off if we put her up for adoption and just sent letters. She used to live with us up until you were five years old. A neighbor got to close to knowing the truth about her. So we put her up for adoption, she was three years old. It was hard Sydney; you have to believe me on that one. It was a hard thing to do to your daughter, just giving her away like that. No official crime has been committed, just giving away a daughter for such a stupid reason. Yes we all make mistakes and that why at your graduation party we were going to have her flown in from where she lives with a loving mom, dad, and four siblings. Two boys and two girls. Her name is Nadia, she’s eleven years old now, has dark brown hair, a tan complexion, is quite tall for her age, and has the cutest smile. And, when she does come for the party she will arrive with a million suitcases.”
“Why’s that?”
“Well…because her foster parents have agreed to let us regain custody and live as a family once again. Jack and I have come to the realization that no one is perfect and I had an affair, bad thing I know, but believe me Jack had an affair as well. So we’re even I guess.”
“Mom, I didn’t need to know some of that stuff.”
“I think the more insight, you’d see our decisions. You are old enough. Now come one we got a party to prep for!!!”
Chapter Nineteen
After Sydney and her mom had the talk about her unknown, younger sister Nadia they decorated well into the night, even Jack helped a little bit. During that time in one night they became a little bit closer to each other and really enjoyed each other’s company that night for once in their lifetime.
Sydney woke to a bright sunny, hot Saturday. She couldn’t believe that today was her own graduation party with all her friends. After showering she picked out a long green v-neck with a white tank to go underneath with her favorite denim skirt. She applied the minimal amount of make-up and went downstairs to grab a quick breakfast and then finish setting up for the party. As she made her way down the staircase she saw a mound of suitcases by the front door and a girl that looked exactly like her sitting down enjoying a bowl of cereal. Sydney ran down the stairs and screamed, “NADIA!!!”
“Syd?” Nadia asked.
“Yessss.” Sydney replied pulling her younger sister into her arms.
Just then Laura walked into the kitchen and couldn’t help smile to herself. She couldn’t stop thinking about what a good idea it was to have Nadia come back to live with them for good.
After breakfast Sydney finished all the last minute cleaning and helped Nadia haul all her suitcases up the stairs into her room. Once all ten suitcases were in Sydney’s room she helped Nadia pick out something to wear to her party. Sydney found something very similar to her outfit: a pink v-neck and a denim skirt. Then painted Nadia’s nails and put make-up on her. After beautifying Nadia it was lunch time. Lunch was simple, fast food. At one o’clock Jacqueline and Francie came over to help finish setting up. Jacqueline was wearing a navy v neck with a pair of khaki cropped pants and Francie was wearing a dark pink polo with a dark denim skirt.
“Jacqueline I’d like you to meet your half sister Nadia. Who is also my half sister.” Sydney said introducing Nadia
“We share a sister?”
“Well she does look like a combo between you and Syd.” Francie said jumping into the conversation.
“I have two stylin’ sisters and a stylin’ friend!” Nadia exclaimed
The girls couldn’t help but laugh. They got down to business after talking for a little bit longer and set up the DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), Karaoke Revolution, put Sydney’s iPod in the stereo, put plenty of towels by the pool, set up games outside and by the time three o’clock rolled around they were still running around putting things together before the guests arrived.
Vaughn was the first guest to arrive. Nadia followed Sydney to the door where Syd and Vaughn shared a passionate kiss.
“EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!” Nadia said.
“Vaughn…this is my half sister Nadia.”
“Nadia, this is my boyfriend Vaughn.”
“Hi Vaughn!” Nadia said.
More guests arrived and by three forty-five everyone had arrived and the party was hopping. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, many were dancing to the music and others were swimming in the pool. Nadia seemed to making friends left and right with all of Sydney and Jacqueline’s friends. Most of their friends treated Nadia like a friend than a sister.
Once it was eleven o’clock all of Sydney’s guests had gone home except for Weiss, who had taken a liking to Nadia, Will, Jacqueline, and Vaughn. Mr. and Mrs. Sloane arrived around eleven ten to talk to Mr. and Mrs. Bristow. That’s when all six of them decided they would go down to the beach and lay out underneath the stars for a while.
“This has been one of the most amazing nights in my life,” Sydney said to Vaughn.
“Me too Syd. Me too.” Vaughn said taking Sydney’s hand and walking down on the beach under the light of the moons and stars.
