That was great ... aww love it ... wow Wedia ... aww both of them are scared to take it to the next level ... aww poor Syd feels like she cheating on Danny ... she need closer ... thanks for the PM ... more soon please

The only thing that will really help Sydney is to have Danny finally die. She'd then feel she didn't cheat on him because she never had sex while he was alive.

Vaughn and him wanting to wait.... Get over Alice and what she did to you Michael. That's history!

Thanks for the PM.

Chris

OO Poor Syd....she shouldn't feel guilty!!!
-I think they should both just move on...and they could do it together!!
-HA I knew Eric and Nadia would get together!!! :D
Great update! Loved it!

Nadia and Weiss are a good match for each other.

Sydney and Michael both have their issues.
Michael needs to get over Alice and what she did to him.
Sydney needs closure with Danny. She didn't get a chance to
say goodbye. Maybe she could go to the hospital to say
goodbye to Danny's body since his brain and spirit are already gone.

you guuuuys alias wrap party is today  its over :sadangel:

Chapter 13
Sydney thought about almost nothing but what her sister had said for the next few days. In the end, she came to the conclusion that Nadia was right. She had never officially ended things with Danny and that’s what was bothering her. Sure they were over, but were they really? The guilt of the fact that Danny was still technically alive and could wake up was finally beginning to catch up to her.

At first, after the accident, she’d visit him in the hospital once a day. Then it was once a week. Then, once a month. Finally, she decided she just couldn’t put herself through the pain anymore. She took off her engagement ring and when Mrs. Hecht, Danny’s mother, found out, she was furious. They had an argument in the middle of the hospital about the fact that Sydney was abandoning him. Sydney stormed out and she hadn’t been back to see Danny since, especially after things started with Michael. Once she was with Michael, she began to forget about Danny, another source of her guilt.

So, in order to reduce her guilt and give herself a sense of closure, she was going to the hospital to see Danny. She told no one that she was going; it was something she had to do by herself. She had to ‘break up’ with him, even if it was rather one sided.

Walking into the hospital, her guilt returned. Thinking about her situation, she felt like a horrible person. The other people in the hospital were hopeful, wishing that their loved ones would heal; praying they’d survive. She was there to break up with a man in a coma.

Slowly, she made her way up to the seventh floor where Danny’s room was located. She walked quickly down the hall, hoping not to be noticed by anyone. Since she had spent practically every day there for about a month, she had become acquainted with most of the nursing staff. The last thing she needed was for one of them to recognize her and for her to come up with a reason why she hadn’t been seen in almost a year.

When she reached the door to his room, she paused. For a moment, she just stood there, breathing and wondering what exactly she was doing. Finally, she opened the door slowly and slipped inside the room. What she found was that it hadn’t changed much at all. In fact, it looked almost exactly the same, except for the flowers beside his bed.

She crept over to his bedside quietly and pulled a chair up silently. For a moment she sat there, listening to the soft hum of the machines attached to him, maintaining watch on his vital signs and feeding oxygen to his lungs. “H-hi Danny,” she croaked. “I, um, I’m sorry I haven’t been to visit. I just....,” she sighed, sat up straighter and reached out her hand to touch his. She slipped her hand around his and gave it a soft squeeze.

“I’m sorry Danny. I’m really, really sorry... sorry about everything really. Sorry that you’re gone... sorry things worked out the way they did. But the thing is... they are the way they are. I can’t wait around forever Danny, I can’t. It’s not fair to me. I know, I know, this really isn’t fair to you but...,” she paused and stroked the back of his hand with her thumb.

“I met someone. I... I didn’t intend to move on when I did... I just wanted to get out there, you know? But I met him and... something happened. Something good. His name is Michael... you probably wouldn’t like him,” she laughed softly. “He’s funny... you wouldn’t like that but... he’s good for me. He helped me get over you and I know that sounds awful, I know but... I had to do it sometime, right? And Michael... I love him,” she stopped, shocked at her own words. Talking to Danny, she just let her words flow out, not thinking about them. She loved Michael...did she love Michael?

She dropped Danny’s hand and sat back in her chair, thinking about the words that had just escaped her mouth. The more she thought about it, the more she repeated the phrase ‘I love him’ over and over in her mind, the more she realized it was the complete truth. She was in love with Michael.

“Danny, I’m sorry. I’m sorry to break up with you this way but... well, I guess that’s all I can say. Goodbye Danny,” she told him as she stood from the chair she had been sitting in and walked quickly from the room, down the hall, towards the elevator.

Immediately after leaving the hospital, Sydney went directly to Michael’s apartment. In the few days she had been mulling over her situation, she hadn’t spoken to him for more than a few minutes at a time, adding to her long list of guilt. She knocked nervously on the door, hoping he wouldn’t slam it in her face when he finally opened it.

“Syd... what are you doing here?” Michael asked.

She cringed. “Is this a bad time?”

“No, no I’m just surprised. Come on in,” he told her as he stepped aside so she could enter his apartment.

“I just... I wanted to say I was sorry... I didn’t mean it to seem like I was flaking these past few days... I’m sorry about that and.... I wanted to tell you that I love you,” she said quickly, looking at him immediately for a response. He looked stunned, which she expected, knowing that her admission was rather random.

“You don’t have to say anything back,” she continued as she began to sweat, hoping that her admission wouldn’t frighten him or freak him out in anyway. “I just wanted to-” but she was cut off by Michael crossing the room in one second and kissing her. Taking that as a good sign, she wrapped her arms around his neck and sunk into the kiss.

Michael broke their kiss a moment later and rested his forehead against hers. “Thank you,” he said quietly.

She smiled softly at him. She wasn’t disappointed; he could take his time, it didn’t matter. “Well... I should go. Laundry awaits, but do you want to have dinner tomorrow?” she asked.

He nodded and kissed her again. She gave him a quick hug before walking over to the door. “Hey, Syd?”

“Yeah?” she looked over her shoulder and saw a huge grin creeping across his face.

“I love you too,” he told her in an almost smug way.

Her heart fluttered for a moment before she groaned and dropped her hand from the door handle. She turned and pouted at him. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

“Yeah,” he laughed. Sydney walked over and smacked his arm. “Hey!” he whined. “Is that anyway to treat the man who just professed his love for you?”

“When he’s being a jerk, yes it is.”

“Jerk, ouch,” he feigned offense.

She rolled her eyes. “You’ll get over it,” she sighed as she walked back to the door.

“I love you,” he called after her.

She turned and winked. “Thanks.” He laughed.
