frustration

ok so lately iv been getting really annoyed because iv realised i cant watch alias in my house with being interupted and its usually when vaugh says something or when something really important happens so i have to tape and re watch. It seem that my family just doesnt get it my mum, brother and i all watch alias right and evyer time were watching my mum asks me something about a character like "oh i thought he was dead" or "now whos he working for" and by brother has to make comments or repeat something a character said when he thinks its funny and then when i tell them to shut up i get yelled at. is jsut me or do you guys have the same problem i mean you dont get you dont get it at least wait till the shows finished.

That's why after the first season, I stopped watching it with my parents. They were too annoying. So were my roommates when I was in the dorms. You should watch it in a separate room, if possible. Or at least record it to watch it again by yourself later.

My mom is really bad about not knowing the character's names. She knows them by sight, but if I say something like "Weiss is gaining weight again," she'll be like, "Weiss...Is he the one with the British accent?" She's getting better at it now though because she knows how much it annoys me.

Well, I admit I hate it when people talk over a show I'm watching. But at the same time its nice that your family can get together to watch the show.
I would suggest that you just keep taping it, and just have fun watching it with your family. Seriously, enjoy your time together.

ALso, before the show starts you can ask your mom if she has a question could she ask during commercials so that you don't miss anything.
As for your brothers...well..thats what brothers do. I recommend tape over his mouth.

My mom hates the show because of the violence, but I'm at school now, so it doesn't really matter. My dad can't watch it, though.

I watch it by myself.... or sometimes my bf watches with me..... and when he does, he's always commenting so I always hold up my hand and go, "shhh!"

well i watch it by myself cos my mum can not stand any programme like that, which is good for me. However, this does not stop her from barging in and talking over the top of an important speech  and when i shush her shes like "how dare you ssh me. i'm your mother. this is my house, yadda, yadda, yadda." Luckily i watched season 3 on vcds that i got off ebay, so when she starts talking i just pause it and sit waiting for her to finish. :P

My friends and family know not to call me during Alias (I've even taken the phone off the hook Sundays 9-10). My husband doesn't even enter the room.... he know better. And the kids go to bed well before 9:00 on Sundays (just to make sure they are down).

I'm sick, I know.... ;)

When someone talks during Alias, I put a frown on my face and wave my hand profusely at them. Oh yeah, all the while my eyes are still glued to the tele.

My mom did the exact same thing. Its amazing that parents think that what they have to say is more important then what I think Syd or Vaughn, or even Jack has to say... :D

screaming loudly during the commercials works. my familys problem is that they ASK TOO MANY QUESTIONS. especially my mom, who never understands anything and always forgets stuff that happens in previous weeks. OR she wants to know whats happening instead of waiting to SEE whats gonna happen.

My family normally has a problem with talking during the show but they know how crazy I can get when they interupt so we all sit in silence watching it but when commercials come on we mute the tv and if anyone has any questions they ask them then, and only then!

lol its that bad

I have a very similar method to all of you guys...

I used to have my door open during the first season and first half of the second season and if somebody came in, I wouldn't shoe them out, but now, I shut and lock my door. My parents KNOW it's alias time, and when my dad does interrupt me (like bringing clean laundry to my room) I say "ALIAS. PUT IT BY THE DOOR" and all is understood.

Three weeks ago, my boyfriend thought it'd be funny to call right when alias started... I almost felt bad for what I told him (but he did it on purpose to make me angry... he admitted it and laughed) "Alias is on. call back in an hour."

...I'm considering unplugging the phone in my room when alias is on....

my favorite was when i had to babysit my sister and i wanted to watch american dreams and then alias so i convinced her at 7 that it was time for bed...

this is horrible...I have to SNEAK to watch Alias. It's sad, I know. But my sister sometimes watches it with me when she comes down for vacation. Other than that, yep, I have to sneak, because my dad still thinks that 9 pm should be my bedtime...

I got my roommate hooked on Alias (somehow during the third season no less...) and she has never seen Season One or Two... She's always asking all these questions... or she's making all these calls on things she has no clue about! :o_O: I would let her borrow my DVD's from One and Two, but she doesn't have a DVD player... :hmm:

I tape it and watch it a second time in peace and quiet. ;)

When Alias was on in England at 12.30 on terrestrial tv on a sunday night it was bliss cos i could lie in bed with no interuptions and as soon as it had finished, rewind it and play it back again.

However, now it's on sky in prime time. i'm lucky if i get "i dont understand this" or "why is madonna stabbing that man" or "why would someone call their child melborne?" more often i have to fight for the remote and lock my sister in the bathroom to stop her from stopping the video.

LOL!!! :sideroll: :rotflmao:

I hate it when mom walks in during Alias...she always seems to come in at the most important moments too...like when vaughn says something important and then i get on allalias and i'm like "WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?" it bugs me alot! anyways she's starting to take a hint and realize that nothing should distract me from my alias...lol....anyways she doesn't barge in anymore so i enjoy my alias in peace...it helps when you make everyone in the house think your asleep cause then everyone gets really quiet....it's worked for me for most of season 3 as Alias doesn't come on until 10:30 for me

Me and my hubby watch Alias together. He's a Marine so if ANYONE comes in the room during the show, he locks them on right away and no one interrupts our time together. That's what you need, a big Marine to shoo everyone away for you :P
