THE OSCARS, THEY'RE NOT: Nominations for the 2003 MTV Movie Awards were announced Monday, and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Spider-Man led the field with five nods apiece. They'll compete for best picture with 8 Mile, Barbershop and The Ring. Nominees for the top award — best on-screen smooch — include Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man), Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner (Daredevil), Nick Cannon and Zoe Saldana (Drumline) Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz (Gangs of New York) and Adam Sandler and Emily Watson in (Punch-Drunk Love). Duking it out in the newly-created virtual performance category are Yoda, Scooby-Doo, Gollum (from LOTR), Dobby (from Harry Potter) and Kangaroo Jack. Fans can vote via phone or online (www.mtv.com) through May 16. The ceremony airs June 5 on MTV.
