Karen Gillian has been busy since leaving the cast of Doctor Who as a regular member with two genre movies, the horror fim Oculus and the sci-fi film Guardians of the Galaxy from Marvel, both coming out soon.
Oculus, opening in theaters April 11 & distributed by WWE Studios, is essentially the story of a haunted mirror that wrecks havoc on a family. Gillian play Kaylie, a woman who is reunited with her brother Tim and he is released having been convicted of killing their parents. Kaylie is convinced that it was really an antique mirror in their childhood home that killed their parents and that Tim is innocent. To prove their suspicions they must locate the present location of the mirror and face their terror again.
Also starring is Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff who plays Kaylie's mother in flashbacks.

Although authorities charged the brother with murder, his sister believed that the true culprit was a haunted antique mirror. Now completely rehabilitated and in his 20s, the brother is ready to move on but his sister is determined to prove that the haunted mirror was responsible for destroying their family.
