I think Syd is so caught up in "losing" Vaughn to see what's always been right in front of her. Will is her soulmate.

As Katya said, when Irina is ready to reveal all, her motivations and reasons will be clear. Irina loves Jack, and as much as he probably wishes he didn't, Jack loves Irina. He does trust her, maybe not completely, but he knows she is the only other person willing to do anything to protect Syd.

J/I have the shows most intense relationship. It shows us that love and hate are two sides of the same coin.

Jack and Irina did make love in the episode. I hope their relationship the last two years will be explored at some point because it looks like they have come to trust each other.
