Chapter Seven

Sydney had to be kept in the hospital for two weeks after her Caesarean section. Three days after her c-section, she really wanted to go home. She wanted to go back to the CIA, now that APO was disbanded because Sloane went bad. She wanted to find Sloane and kill that son of a b****. Brooke started to cry in Sydney’s arms, waking her from a trance. Vaughn was in a nearby room with Isabelle because if the twins heard the other one cry, they would start to cry. She slipped one arm out of the gown and slid it down, allowing Brooke to start nursing.
Danny hadn’t come to visit since Isabelle’s birth, and he missed her. He wasn’t sure what to do about his feelings for Sydney, he had never loved a woman the way he loved, and loves her now. He kept telling himself, “She is getting married,” over and over, but it never changed the way his heart flipped ever time he thought of her. So, he decided to come earlier this morning. He walked into Sydney’s room. Her breast was exposed, and he stared. She noticed him about thirty seconds after he walked in, and noticed the direction of his gaze. She turned bright red and pulled Brooke away and pulled up her gown.
“Sorry,” Danny said, embarrassed that he had stared so long.
“It’s okay,” Sydney said. She was confused; she didn’t mind being stared at by Danny. She to was confused by her feelings for Danny. She got up and put Brooke in her cradle.
“So, how are you,” Danny said, trying to get over what had just happened between them.
“I am so sore, from the c-section. Nursing also hurts.” She immediately regretted sharing such an intimate detail with him.
As she was returning to her bed, Danny stopped her.
“Sydney, I love you.”
“I love you too, Danny,” she replied startled.
“Not like a friend though, I love you like I loved you seven years ago.” Sydney was taken aback.
“Me too, Danny. But, we can’t act on it, we are both married to people we love and I haven’t seen you in almost seven years.
Over in the other hospital room, Vaughn was cradling Isabelle, who he absolutely doted on. He had excellent paternal instincts, and it showed. Anna Hecht walked in, wearing a not-so-modest shirt revealing a lot of cleavage. Vaughn jumped to attention and stopped singing “Clementine” to her.
“Vaughn, I am attracted to you, really attracted to you.” She said in a low sultry tone. She flipped her blonde hair.
“Anna, you seem like a nice person, but you are married!” Vaughn backed up. He stared into her light blue eyes. He put Isabelle in her cradle, and then Anna kissed him. He didn’t want it at first. Then he realized how good it felt, he closed his eyes and let her kiss him harder and more passionately. He began to up button her shirt and she walked to the door and locked it.
Meanwhile, Sydney and Danny were staring at each other. Neither of them knew what to do next. Danny put his arms around her, one on her the small of her back the other one, well, lower. He kissed her, she kissed him back. He locked the door.

I am engaged and you are married, we can’t” Vaughn wasn’t sure what had gotten into him; he was not attracted to Anna in anyway. He loved Sydney. Anna finished unbuttoning her shirt, “Come on, Vaughn, you know you want to.” Vaughn pushed her back, “No I don’t! Get out!” She pouted, but didn’t button up her shirt. Outside, Nadia pulled out her key.
Danny stopped kissing Sydney. She was embarrassed because of what they had just done. “Danny, I love you, but we can never do that again.” Danny knew that Sydney was right; he loved her, but was happily married. “I know Syd, I know, and I am sorry.” He hugged her and left.
Nadia fiddled with the key, it just wouldn’t unlock. She finally opened the door to find Vaughn pushing a half-naked Anna towards the door. Nadia was furious, “What the hell do you think you are doing Anna?” Anna was silent and Nadia punched her. Nadia became very protective of her big sister after Vaughn was under investigation. She pushed Anna out of her way. She folded her arms and stared at Vaughn. “I could have handled her myself Nadia.” She decided to ignore that comment. “You didn’t do anything with her?” Vaughn hesitated “Of course not, she forced herself on me.” Nadia was satisfied with that answer, and pushed Anna out of the door leaving her to explain her bleeding jaw to her husband.
She walked over to Isabelle’s crib. “Is this one Isabelle?” Vaughn was surprised, not even Sydney could tell apart besides from their bracelets, and Nadia hadn’t looked at it. “How did you know?” “I am good at that kind of thing, Brooke’s has less hair.” Weiss walked in,”Where’s Sydney” “Hello to you too.” Weiss and Nadia came to see Sydney and Vaughn to tell them very important news. When Weiss and Vaughn and Sydney were all in the same room, they broke the news. “We eloped last week and Nadia’s pregnant.”
