Oooooh! Your avatar here is super, super cool! And makes me want a fun drink. Which reminds me that I saw one today on TV. Part pomegranate juice, part fresh squeezed OJ, and part Italian champagne. 🤤 I've been planning on having some girls over in a couple weeks and then going to see a movie together and I'll make that special, since it'll also be a "Celebrate my friend's new tenure-track job!" party.

I finished my grant app so yay! It's just a little one. I'm not totally done - must do the budget and am waiting on quotes but at least I got all the written part out of the way. Have to get my advisor to do a letter for me. Lots of women from my department have gotten this grant though so hopefully I can manage to get some too.

ETA: :rotfl: That's a different drooly guy. :lol:
 
So, I have this linksys card for my laptop and I don't know how to use it. I don't remember if it came with a disk or not. :thinking: I found the card when I was cleaning my room.


I'm drinking this V-fusion Vegetable and & Fruit: Strawberry & Banana. Not bad... I can really taste the strawberry.

Found the disk for the linksys ^_^

:lol: Thanks! That's actually Michael Vartan's hand from an old photo shoot. It does look like a yummy drink!

I had a fantastic little jaunt to the beach. I took quite a few pictures that I will post once SD-1 is back up and they load to photobucket which is being a pain. :rolleyes:
 
Ugh... I was going to type at sd-1. Darn site went down before I even send it. :angry:

My mom just told me, she wants me go back to very short hair cut. :sigh: and, I told her, I want long hair. I love to style my hair.

Ooh! Avalanche photos!! http://www.9news.com/9slideshows/Berthoud%...efault.aspx?N=2 #1 and #3 are the best. In #1, those people are all standing on the highway! The snow came from up a mountain that isn't skiied on much (like back country skiing). When I first heard about it, I figured it was from the summit of Berthoud Pass and there would have been skiiers up there today. :o_O: But they've got everyone safe now. :w00t:

I have no idea what is happening today...but I just wanted to drop by and say :hi:...I had my hair done..got the barbeque stuff bought for tomorrow (cooking is done by mom :blush:) and now I am french manicuring myself...it will be a fun Christmas :w00t:

Man, y'all and the food. I'm gonna have to go now, down next door to order a pizza, maybe buy some wine or something, and get my mail because the first disc of HBO's The Wire is in there. It's my next TV show project. :nod:
 
We really didn't like it. Some of the plot was really interesting, and the topic was fascinating, but the movie itself was poorly done. I can't tell you the name of one character in the movie :thinking: I can't tell you what happened at the end. I can't tell you what really happened at all... it seemed to be all over the place, unorganized, and missing some human element of character development. Now, maybe that was the purpose, keeping people kind of anonymous, but I didn't like it. Again, the topic and its implications are very interesting, I just think the movie itself was hard to watch.
 
I thought it was a pretty slow movie. Just didn't really move quickly enough. I didn't like the way they did the ending - switching back and forth between the climax of the plot itself and the... *cough* uh... well, that "special moment" between dude and his wife. If you know what I mean. That threw me and was kinda icky. :lol:

Anyway, I'll be back later!
 
I agree with the film being hard to watch..especially for the American public since people here do not see this type of raw violence ( I mean crime is one thing..systematic preplanned murder is another) but it does show how deep rooted this whole issue is in the middle east ( yes!..thing were and are still that violent!) but I agree about it being all over the place a bit :smiley:
