ZOMBIES TAKE OVER MAD IN JULY
Zombo Italiano: The Italian Zombie Film Movement, 1972 – 1985 presented in conjunction with the exhibition Dead or Alive at the Museum of Arts and Design.
In conjunction with the current exhibition Dead or Alive, the Museum of Arts and Design, presents the film series Zombo Italiano: The Italian Zombie Film Movement, which will run from July 8 through July 29. The MAD Theater will screen 10 works by a generation of directors, some celebrated, some obscure, who through their pioneering special effects pushed the boundaries of low-culture and gore to deal brutally and humorously with the body at its most material, while offering a grotesque but poetic vision of nature and humanity. The films include cult classics by Lamberto Bava, Jorge Grau, Lucio Fulci, Pier Paolo Pasolini, George A. Romero, and Michele Soavi.
