Island Zero (2018)

Inhabitants of a fishing island off the coast of Maine find themselves mysteriously cut off from the outside world after the ferry suddenly stops coming. All the phones have gone dead and every boat sent to the mainland fails to return. When dead bodies turn up along the water's edge, the hardy band of survivors must find out who, or what, is killing them. —Tess Gerritsen

Director: Josh Gerritsen
Writer: Tess Gerritsen
Stars: Laila Robins, Adam Wade McLaughlin, Teri Reeves

This film is a refreshing take on modern horror done on a low budget. The story, script, acting and locations are amazingly effective at generating a sense of foreboding. Classed as a creature feature there is no focus on the creatures aside from a few infrared images but the effects of the carnage and fear are very much effective at creating a sense of horror. Certainly worth watching if you love good story, good acting effective horror monster films. Given the quality of today's horror films with the same ole shock and awe, this is very refreshing.

I found a full version of the film on youtube while looking for a trailer.
Not sure how long the video will last but it is available on prime streaming sites too.

Watch it at night, in the dark.
