Shalom everyone, welcome (even if ur not in a youth group or are not jewish)
this is the thread for members of USY, NCSY, BBYO, and NFTY

please introduce yourself, say your youth group, region, and chapter (include the city please)

I am Ari, of USY (GO FAR WEST REGION), I will be a member of Adat Ari El USY in studio city (los angeles) (im leavin my current chapter)
 
This feels like a mixer!
I'm Sarah, from SPORTY (St Paul Organization of Temple Youth), in the NFTY Northern Region.
I'm programming VP of my youth group at Mt. Zion Temple in Saint Paul, MN.
oh, and I'm a meitav fellow through Union for Reform Judaism.
 
hey my names gabrielle. im a member of NERUSY, or New England Regional USY...obviously im jewish sice im a part of that group :D

Part of the Natick Chapter, but also the Worchester chapter.

My youth group is SPORTY in NFTY Northern region, I'm Programming VP of my youth group. And I'm a Meitav Fellow, through the Union for Reform Judaism.

yup...i just say WHISTER though...i never understood the spelling :blink:

im nothing right now...i was programming for my chap last year but i havent run for anything since.

i always say wuster, which as i have told u i was there last summer

well los angeles is really spread out and the shul im a member of is too far, and i just like this other one better

SO anyways, we seem to have covered the youth groups...what other jewish groups do yall affiliate with??

for example, i go to camp ramah during the summer!
 
I'm a meitav fellow, which means that the URJ chose me to participate in three summers at Jewish camps, a semester in Israel, and leadership training throughout the year, so far it's been amazing. (www.urj.org/youth/meitav if you wanna apply..)
I've been to Kutz Camp in NY, and in one week I'll be at Camp Newman in CA.

i also attend los angeles hebrew high school (or heeb high)
where i get high school credits for taking foreign language, but we also have history and judaica courses

we used to doa program called shabbat united, where ramah, usy, and heeb high got together for a dinner
but they are so interrelated
like almost all of heeb high is usy, and most of usy goes to ramah
 
Well, meitav is the fellowship for Reform Youth, and NFTY is the Reform Youth program, but there are some Meitavniks that are fed up with the NFTYites that go to events just for social reasons, and really couldnt care less about Judaism, so they're Meitav, but they dont really identify with NFTY.
 
well, most of the kids in USY care about judaism...im pretty sure that every person has at least some connection they care about. and at ramah everyone just, loves everyone and everything about the camp!!!

*sigh* only 13 days...
