What about the new on The Insider? If Alias stop after five season I'll be happy, beacause usually after some season shows become boring and obsolet... but if Alias will continue without her "natural" leader... I'll be sooooo sad... 'cause it will be boring, obsolet and unnatural! Sydney Bristow is the main of Alias... the ironic and dramatic part of the show are mainly on her hands... seeing an other actress "trying" to be like her... bleah! It makes me sick to my stomach... OK! Do it with Syd as "teacher" it could be an experiment... but without her... gosh! Jen-Syd is something exclusive! Don't ruin this! It sounds like a blasphemy! So please.... rather... stop the show!

Yes it wouldn't be the same if Sydney was no longer on the show, but in my opinion whether the show could make it or not if she left would be how much involvement JJ had with the show. If he is still very involved with the plot developments, I think they could make it work. - not everyone (audience) would stay with the show, but enough might.

Yes, I am one of the people who have stuck with ER. I didn't give up when the main characters started leaving. I don't like the show as much as I used to, but I still watch and enjoy the show each week. My husband doesn't watch anymore, he stoped watching when Anthony Edwards left the show. (So I am comparing the two shows and thinking it could work, but not everyone will like it.)

I've been seeing this all over the place. With the recent addition to the cast, I was wondering if they do have her as the next "Sydney Bristow", how would Vaughn, Nadia, Irina, and Jack tie into all this? I mean that is Sydney's family. Would they still be on the show, or would they cast some other people to be Rachel's family? I'd probably still watch the show to see how it all plays out, it just seems different without Jennifer Garner.

Neither option sounds good. Alias can't end now. It's only in its 5th season. I'm not ready to let it go! And it can't go on without her. Please don't leave Jen! Alias needs you! no one else can be Syd!

I totally agree. Alias without Syd would be totally weird. The whole show bases around her, her family and her love life. Come on if this new chick was supposedly to be cast as the new syd how would that work unless she was syd long lost cousin or something.

Personally it would not be the same. I would rather they ended it on a happy note rather than let it drag on.
