Horror films

OH gosh it was really scary!! I just watched it and I liked it alright. It was totally original and interesting. But anyone know if Samaria was their kid or did they adopted her. But I slept alright.

OK one of my guy friends wants me to watch the Ring with him, I've never seen it. Should I? Four other guys tell me not to, but that could be because of the kid who asked me to see it with him.

I'm a huge horror fan and just wanted to see if anyone else is. What's your favorite??? Mine's Hellraiser. Just love Pinhead......hehe.

Scary movies kind of........scare me!! LOL. I'm not a big "scary movie buff" so I think the scariest movie I have seen is Halloween H20....and it gave me nightmares!! LOL. Sad...I know! I know! But I loved Scream!! It was the funniest "scary" movie ever!!!

Wait a second, we already have a topic about horror movies. I love 'em--or, should I say, good ones--and you have to wade through a lot of dreck to find the gems. I like Hellraiser, too. One of my favorites is Re-Animator, but you need a strong stomach and a strange sense of humor to really enjoy that one. For sci fi-horror, it's hard to beat Alien. And I came across a couple of little-known ones that I thought were pretty good, like Near Dark and I, Madman. Even some of the really old ones like The Mummy (the Karloff one) have some atmosphere--even if they're not particularly scary. You never know when you're going to come across something worthwhile. Maybe I'll write up a little guide to what I like if I run out of things to write about (ha ha, like that'll happen).
;)

I didn't think Event Horizon was that great either. All my friends were so scared of it. I loved the Ring, not scary for me, but really good. The story was great.

Did anyone hear about the new Freddy vs. Jason. It comes out in August. They are playing the trailer with the new Matrix. I cannot wait to see it. I love Freddy. He kicks ass!

Vicky

Yep. I heard a ton about it at Coming Attractions (now merged with Cinescape online). I hope it will be good. I liked the first Nightmare on Elm Street--and I have sort of a nostalgic appreciation for the Freddy character, so I can still manage to enjoy the lesser sequels--but I've never been a big Friday the 13th fan.

i think that the scariest movie to meeh would probably be the ring unedited version that was a scary movie and it really did freak meeh out like i would beeh walking to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and like i would think that little girl was going to jump out from behind a door or something i was so paranoid :P  but now i think im fine

Finally saw a little horror movie called feardotcom, which finally came to cable (I believe it's playing on Cinemax) (yes, my husband still doesn't like horror movies, and he came in during the final minutes to tell me how "sick" this one was . . . Yes, thank you, dear, I know . . . ). This one is rightly rated R ("for violence including grisly images of torture, nudity and language").

Sadly, as usual, the casting of Jeffrey Combs translated into the underuse of his talents ( ), and the story had the usual horror-movie shortcomings. However, this one had some incredibly striking (if sick and disturbing) nightmarish imagery--perhaps what The Cell aimed for but fell short of (guess it's harder to get what you want when a studio is looking over your shoulder going, Don't mess with JLo's career! ^_^ ).

Upshot, I thought that if you like horror films--especially if you're into mood/atmosphere--it might be worth it. There's a lot wrong with the film, but the performances aren't bad (the bad guy and the vengeful ghost are really quite good--Combs would be too, but they don't give him enough to do) and the imagery and effects are startling (if disturbing).

But remember that this puppy is R-rated for a reason. If you get nightmares from films, this is one that might do it.
;)

I'm a sucker for old horror movies that aren't even considered horror anymore--more like comedy. The Birds, House on Haunted Hill, you name it. ^_^

Darkness Falls all the way! I couldn't go in the dark with my eyes open for a month. and to this day I'm afraid to open my eyes in dark sometimes. I hate it. now im even scared of the tooth fairy.....a mythical creature. Geeeeeeze!

Hmmm...I might have listed mine before, but I can't remember. Let's just say everything humanly possible scares me. I'm terrified of every horror movie and then some....of the few I've seen...The Sixth Sense was the last actual scary movie.
