Sorry, can't just say yes or no. Gotta be verbose: Gee, I'm no judge of "hotness" because I don't tend to think in those terms--and didn't even when I was a teen. However, my age is not ridiculously distant from Mr Garber's. The way understand the term "hot" is a more superficial judgement based on things like appearance, presence, voice, etc. And I just don't respond to that. I tend to respond to the character and what the actor brings to the character. The character must have certain qualities that I respond to, and the actor must have the nuanced performance to bring those qualities out. I guess the actors that I tend to be drawn to (and Victor Garber is one of them) are those capable of breaking my heart--but the role, again, really helps.
It tend to be after I notice the acting that I come to appreciate the physical attributes of the actor more. For Mr Garber, he's pleasantly tall, he has those nice broad shoulders (it doesn't seem to be all padding), and a very expressive face with a sweet (though with Jack, seldom seen) smile, good jawline, and especially expressive eyes.
But then, I did try out a series that got some buzz back in the 80s,
The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd (in the year of the "dramedy"). I confess I really didn't like the show very much, except for one character--but unfortunately that character, Dennis, didn't show up every week. Had he been a regular, I would have become a Victor Garber fan much earlier and continued to watch the show . . . Maybe this means he's hot?
