Politics CIA Recruitment on Univerisities

I read in an article how students were protesting the recruitment of students by the CIA on a college campus, claiming if they joined the CIA, they would be helping to create move violence in the world and stuff like that.

Read these articles for some background information, I guess:

Hmm...now if you're in college, you know what to look out for if you want to be recruited/not recruited!

that's freaky

I think it would be so exhilarating to work for the CIA, but I know it's so glamorized....best just pretend to be a spy. Best part: You don't have to worry about being killed

All I can say is that A LOT of the stuff you see that makes thinks working for a federal agency is appealing (i.e. TV, media) but it all reality its not.

The recruitments are not as prominent as they used to be and most of the intel gathered runs from the 1950s - 1970s. There is more difficulty running into them now unlike back then.

But the articles are quite an interesting read.

Yeah she did, on the UCLA campus. If you read the novel Recruitment, the first in the series, she was in school and suddenly noticed people watching her...and then all of a sudden, she's working at outside table one day and some guy approaches her telling her the government is intersted in hiring her! They gave her a business card with the front company of Credit Dauphine...

of course, it was the sd-6 that approached her, but I'll bet its similar with the CIA...since sd-6 was pretending to be the CIA...

I'm planning to join the CIA :D Thank you very much Alias. Before I wanted to be a writer or proffesional soccer player. I think recruiting people on college campuses is OK. As long as they dont take it to far. (A.K.A stalking people :blink:smiley:

Wow look what I just found...

The CIA has stepped up its presence on college campuses after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the Wall Street Journal reported in late 2002.

Quoted from this article:

So...if you want to be in the CIA, go for one of those intelligence programs! lol....

I know Emory-Riddle Aeronautical University also offers that type of program...or similar...
