Cult British sci-fi TV series DOCTOR WHO has been attacked for being unsuitable for children.
BBC bosses have been bombarded with complaints from enraged parents unable to placate their youngsters, terrified by the show which is broadcast at peak time early on Saturday evenings.

Last weekend's (09APR05) episode featured the doctor, played by CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON, fighting possessed dead bodies which spewed creatures out of their mouths.

One viewer fumed, "The kids were really shaken up by the whole programme. It's not the type of thing that you expect to see on the TV at 7pm."

But a BBC spokesman says, "Doctor Who has never been intended for the youngest of children. We would suggest that only children aged eight and above should watch it with their parents."
