Season 4 Elena and Irina

Hi,

I am sorry if I posted this is the wrong episode. I can't remember what hour it is from.

Yeah, the project helix thing is a little fishy to explain why Irina is still alive, but it is also simplistic and easy to understand, so I am okay with it.

What I don't get is why Elena wanted people to think that Irina was dead? Did anyone mention this? Did Elena just not want people searching for Irina so she could complete her endgame?

On a side note, any chance that the person who volunteered to be "Helixed" into Irina is important?

yelena needed irina but she also needed no one to come looking for her which she knew that sydney & jack would do if they knew she was being held somewhere
thats why yelena doubled her - so that they would kill the faux-irina and think that the real one was dead

Also, it had to do with the fact the Irina is the only one who can stop Elena. No Irina and everyone else is hopeless.
