iTunes 6 help

Ok, so you know how the latest version of iTunes is iTunes 6?

Well, I had an older version (iTunes 4) and I downloaded iTunes 6. It all works fine... except that if you double click on the icon to open it, it takes half an hour.

But once you actually get into it, it all works fine...

And say you have an .mp3 in My Documents and you double click on it, since iTunes is the Default player for my songs, iTunes should open up at that point and play the song, right? Yeah, see, it takes half an hour for iTunes to do that.

So I uninstalled it, and redownloaded iTunes 6.

Same thing happened.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Any help would be awesome. ^_^
