From TheFutonCritic.com: Futon regular AONGUS B. writes: What about moving "Alias" up against, gulp, "Law & Order?" I'll admit that this could kill the show, but "Alias" is a marginal performer where it is now and there's a logic for why the show could succeed there. On Wednesday, it would take advantage of a bigger and somewhat more compatible lead-in with "The Bachelor," and at least the show would only have "Law & Order" competing with it for those older viewers, instead of "Law & Order: C.I." competing with it for older viewers, FOX and the WB siphoning off the younger viewers and HBO going directly at it. In this scenario, "The Practice" could go back to Sundays, but perhaps at 9pm to serve as a lead-in to either Dragnet or a new drama. That's actually a solid idea. "Alias," as it is right now, is probably at best going to repeat its current numbers next season if it stays in the Sunday, 9:00/8:00c slot. So the question becomes is what it's doing right now good enough for ABC? Both "Dragnet" and "The Practice" continually built on "Alias'" audience while the drama itself only built on its "WWoD" lead-in by 6% on average. But as "The Practice" has seen, a move is not always a good thing and ABC may be willing to stick with the status quo for right now. I wouldn't be surprised if Aongus is right come May though. NOTE: This would mean moving it to Wednesdays 10/9c in the US. NOTE: This is just pure speculation on what MIGHT work. This is NOT official and we won't know what's really going on until around May.
