Okay, I was watching "Spirit" Epi 10 of season one, and noticed something. When Will's techie friend is taking apart the flower pin, he says "This thing is gorgeous. It's like the next gen's next gen."
And in this episode, Marshall said "Sloane's not lying. He'd have to be using the next gen's next gen to fool this."
What's the similarity between the two? Both involve Sark. The pin was a way for Will to contact "deep throat", which was Sark. And, now Sark is working with Sloane (kinda, sloane CLAIMS he is a double agent. I laugh.) They worked together to take down the Alliance and now are both in with the covenant. This may the proof we need that Sloane is bad. Sark has the next gen's next gen.
