I was breaking up my catch up reading into bits, inbetween working
 It's not a who, but a what!
Tintern Abbey Yesterday, I read Wordsworth's poem about Tintern Abbey and today, we talked about it in class. Now, I have this crazy desire to go to England and see it! I want to experience what he describes! I am a BIG nerd!
Ooh, come to England! I'll travel to Tintern Abbey and meet you!
(err if you want
)
felgercarb! felgercarb! felgercarb! I keep forgetting to burn those CDs!
inch: I will try to do that tonight or tomorrow, I promise! :smooch:
So, I had one fun thing happen today, and one crappy thing. The crappy thing is that something is wrong with my phone line. It's dead, but they're supposed to have it back on tomorrow. The fun thing that happened is that my office supply guy came to the office today to work up my first supply order. We ended up talking for an hour! We have tons of things in common -- the funniest is that we went to the same college and hung out with some of the same people! We were trying to figure out how in the world we never actually met because we were at so many of the same places at the same time! Anyway, I made a cool new friend, I think!
Oh it wasn't intended as a reminder to you - I keep reminding myself to do my CD for you! Last night I didn't burn it, but I DID work on adding music to it. See I'd lined up the songs for
Nsspense and
Candace's CDs, and then remembered some songs I'd missed. Since then, I've bought new music and was gonna add some of that to it. So last night I went through, adding some songs, and removing others I thought weren't quite right. It started at 56 songs and ended on 40 - I think it ended up a little lower, actually. I MUST remember to add the two Daniel Bedingfield tracks...
Then, I'll post/PM the song list to you, and see if there are any you already have or any you don't like/want, and once that's done, I can burn it. Then post it to you (and the CDs to
Nsspense and
Candace, and photos to my grandparents). It took all night to work on the playlist though!
The darn fire alarm went off again. This time, they told us that it is malfunctioning. It has been malfunctioning. The resident director said that even though it is malfunctioning, we still have to come outside. My suite-mate and I were like, "Are you crazy? We're staying in our beds!" But, then we found out that not coming out during a fire alarm is a $250 fine.
Yeesh.
Ouch!
Okay, the dates are:
San Francisco: 28th October to 9th November
Portland: 9th November to 12th November
New York: 12th November to 12th January (I'm basing myself out of NY for two months, but I'm going to make day trips/overnight trips to Washington and Boston then I'm going to Toronto for one weekend somewhere in that period as well...)
Los Angeles: 12th January 24th January... then on the 24th I go back to San Francisco to fly home and I'll come home on the 24th.
This time next year I'll be pretty much rounding up my trip and desperately planning when my next will be, I'm sure...
^_^
Oh this is so exciting! I'm very jealous
. Are you gonna keep a travel journal? Or a Blog or something? We could all comment on it then (and friends and family). Sorry - I get excited about travel and photos
And ooh, you leave the day after my birthday (27th) (you leave on
Mellie's birthday, the 28th)!
Uhm... dudes? If you aren't sick of things about me, I might have something else to tell you. That is, if you don't mind?
Like you even have to ask
I was going to wait to tell you until I had something official, but I can't back out of things with this now so...
I'm quitting my job. For real this time too, and everything. I've had a few pretty rough weeks (one in particular 2 weeks ago) and it's at a point now where I wake up in the morning and don't want to go and come home and cry.
Some of the things that have happened, you guys wouldn't believe and I'm sure some would convice
Meloh to rally the army because of them. I've been on the phone with the agency just now and I talked with my consultant there this morning about it. I just have to wait for another job to come up with the bank my dad works for, give my notice and I'm gone.
Well I'm sorry you've had such a rough time, but I am so, SO glad you'll be getting out of there!
:smooch: here's to bigger and better things for you
It's snowing.
assout: It must have been snowing for a couple of hours already, because when I woke up, the city was completey covered in white. :lovely: I like seeing snow and walking through it when it's all fresh and white.
But I've been hearing about car accidents and icy streets all morning, which makes me not like snow again.
Snow!
assout:
It's sunny, blue sky with some white clouds here. Apparently there was a dusting of snow on high ground by Bodmin (in Cornwall, a way from us), but nothing here. If I'm having cold, I want it to be worthwhile, damnit!
Enjoy the snow! (and I hope people take better care with driving then).
Back to work *sigh*.
Leaving a
and :smooch: for everyone!
