Hi! Does anybody over here play volleyball?
I've been playing it for seven years now and I still love it! :smiley:
I also play against other teams (competition).
We became second this year. We should have won, we've beaten the number one a couple of times. But unfortunately they won more sets from the other competitors and were able to beat us with 4 points. Too bad huh?

i play volleyball, play at the school team though. I've been lucky so far I haven't been cut from the team yet. I don't know how'll it'll go this fall, I've been trying to work on setting, because they always need setters, and i'd like to be a setter but i have problems setting it the right way.
 
I play volleyball for our school's team. We won the city championship, and the county championship, and our team is all grade 7's (now grade 8's) going up against grade 8's (now grade 9's.) I'm okay, but my friend is amazing. All the other teams call her "the Beast" because she can do an overhand serve like you wouldn't believe! She dented the hard wood floor once, and she's only 12!
 
i use to play. i quit my freshman year of high school because i was also playing basketball and softball and 3 sports were too much for me. i was trying to focus on training for basketball the most and volleyball didn't let me do that. none the less, i loved playing it and i missed it all through high school.

I wish I could serve overhand, every time i try serving overhand it always causes problems, i hit three people in the back of the head. And finally I got it over twice. It was horrible.
 
I tried it but was never as good as my sister... she played Division I in college and played over in Europe for awhile... she still does it competitively on the beach and wins virtually every tournament she's in...
 
Oh man, I loved volleyball. I played Jr. High thru Senior Year as well as one year in club and intramural at college.

I was mainly a defensive specialist but was sometimes allowed to play a full rotation. That was one of my favorite parts - being the shorter girl (5'6") who played front row - no one could get a tip past me. :lol:

The only downside now is back in HS, we had a really really really bad floor - so thanks to all kinds of sprawling and diving, my knees are pretty well shot and I'm only 22 :(
 
yea, i'm also 5'6" i hate playing front row, just because i don't trust people behind me. :lol: in 6th and 7th grade my knees were pretty badly scarred from skidding on the gym floor so many times, my knees look a whole lot better now 2 years after the whole thing.
 
i'm 5'7", but I'm only going into 8th grade, so Im the tallest....I play for school and club (competitive)---we got 10th out of 50!! I play middle fornt :smiley: i love spiking, but I can;t serve :( I've played for 3 years and I love it!!!! :smiley: colleyball rocks!1 hehe :woot: :woot: :woot: :lol:
 
I only play beach volleyball... means I can dive more...

Crowning glory 6'4" guy on the opposition goes for a spike, so I jump get my hand over the net, and touch it down right as he goes to hit it. Somehow I get my hand back over and land on my feet
 
i love volleyball..i play for school and club....i play front left and that's it..my bud elizabeth is our libero!! That rocks! I'm 5'8'' and i'm only in 8th grade, so i get a lot of hits and blocks and what not..my over hand serve isn't to shabby either.

last weekend we played in a tourney and only lost to the minnesota allstars team..they're soo good...wow...but we're second in the standings as of..well..right now...haha!!

what do you guys play?

:eek: wow...that is exactly what i did! I did play volleyball, basketball, and softball too at one time. Volleyball is a lot of fun, i was on the JV team as a freshman and was never on a travel team. I was on travel team for softball and basketball for years so volleyball was just too time consuming. I made the team in 10th grade but i had problems with the new coach(long story) so i quit midway. The varsity coach urged me not to but i couldn't do it anymore. But it was so much fun and i do miss it
 
I never played it on the high school team. However, I took it as a phys ed course 6-7 years ago in the second half of my time in high school, which explains the volleyball logo that I have on my class ring (99).
 
Over here we only have P.E. at high school. A volleyballteam, basketballteam (etc etc) who represent the school, just don't excist.. Too bad, i would have loved to play in one of those teams.. :(
I'm in college now, no sports.. at all! I have to settle with te local volleyballclub.. ;)
 
In Germany wehave volleyball teams at almost every school and university.A friend of mine was shocked when she saw the university volleyball team, because it were over 200 people in one gym!!!
