Chapter 30
Sydney bounded up the stairs like a kid on Christmas morning. She’d always wanted a sister when she was growing up, so she was anxious to meet the one she never knew she’d had. She went to the door of the spare room, knocking on it gently.
“Come in.” She heard a voice say. She opened the door and was greeted with the astonished face of her little sister, Nadia.
“Nadia?” Sydney said.
“Sydney?” Nadia said.
They both smiled, hugging each other emphatically. At that moment, the phone rang. Sydney answered it cheerily.
“Hello?”
“Hey beautiful.” Michael said.
“Now’s a bad time. Can I call you back later?”
“Well, the guys wanted to meet us at the pizza place, remember?”
“Oh yeah. Do you think there could be room for one more?” Sydney asked.
“I don’t see why not.” He replied.
“Okay, then I’ll see you in about an hour.” She said.
“Alright. Love you.”
“Love you too.” She said with a smile before hanging up the phone.
“Who was that?” Nadia asked.
“Oh, that was my boyfriend Michael. He and I are going to get some pizza and he said he didn’t mind if you came along.” Sydney replied.
“I don’t want to intrude.”
“Nonsense. You’re absolutely welcome to come.” I replied, “In fact, you’ll get to meet some of my friends because they’re coming along tonight too.”
“That sounds fun.”
“Then let’s find you something to wear and we’ll talk to Dad about it.” Sydney said, taking Nadia’s hand and taking her to her room to sift through her closet.
Short, but an Eva chap nonetheless! ^_^
