Though from experience, I could see why someone could be admitted because of Scarlatina, you're constantly moving around, itching, burning...it's not a pleasant experience.

I seem to recall a press report dated from 1868 from an institution in Tennessee that said that there were five admissions from people "wishing to be trampled by horses." I can't recall the name of the asylum right now, might go look for it again when I thumb through archives.
