Currently in the US there are four TV shows that take place post-apocalypse. But which one is best? Are none of them the "best" versus an older show? Calling something "best" is of course something that is based largely on opinion.

Which do you feel is the best post-apocalypse TV show and why?

For consideration below are some TV shows that are either airing or have aired. For consideration the entire premise of the TV show should be set in a post-apocalypse setting as opposed to a single episode or a 'what if?' scenario.

    • The Walking Dead (zombies)
    • Falling Skies (aliens)
    • Revolution (technology)
    • Defiance (aliens)
    • Jericho (nuclear war)
    • Jeremiah (virus)
    • Dark Angel (nuclear war)
    • Terra Nova (ecology destroyed by man)
    • Planet of the Apes (intelligent simians become the new dominant species)
    • The Last Train (meteor strike)
