At first, I thought that Vindication had a good chance of winning the Triple Crown... but he got knocked out early. And then I became really interested in Empire Maker. What a horse! 2 more days until the Derby! In the meantime, is anyone watching the Kentucky Oaks tmo? I love watching that race almost as much.

I had an interesting time riding tonight. I was riding this horse who was totally losing it because he was so interested in the new little pony. I had to get off in the middle of the lesson 'cause he kept lunging towards the pony, even when it left the ring and was outside! We lunged him, then I got back on. Then he went a little better. Oy, he was a much more difficult ride than the other horses I'd been riding, but it was FUN! And there's a schooling show at the stable next Sunday that I'm doing (hopefully). I'm nervous... I haven't been in a horse show in like 5 years. But it should be a pretty easy class... my instructor's putting me with beginners 'cause I'm much more comfortable on her school horses, and they usually only do little jumps.

oh i'm sure you'll do great. It's in you. That horse sounds interesting...
I thought Vindication have a really good chance too but then he got that sickness or disesas or what ever. I was sad. but Empire maker have a pretty good history. He did win the Florida Derby by 9 3/4 Length. that's pretty good. Plus it's a grade I stake. As for the Oaks i have no idea what channel it's airing on!!! It's today too. so if you get to see this before 5:43 (post time) tell me!!! i wanna watch it! and if you tell me it's on ESPN I'll be very very very very angry! but Elloluv is the favourite in there. Good looking horse too. but the picture that they had with her, she had a shawdow roll on. So I guess a figiter. and she's breaking from first slot too. I love the looks of Atlantic Ocean, so pretty hehe :rotflmao: any ways I wanna watch the Oaks, but I don't think I can get it. oh well...

Okay... don't be mad... the Oaks is being shown on ESPN2 (the ladies don't even get the main ESPN channel  ) from 4-5 pm est. There's also racing from 3-5 pm on ESPN (it stinks that you can't get it!). If you go to www.drf.com and click on 'televised horse racing', it has the whole schedule for like the next few months.

:cuss: :banghead: argh!!!!! *mumbles* stupid ppl. have no taste in sports... *mumbles some more* stupid ppl. argh! you know the ladies should be at least on the main espn. i mean what kinda repect is that. they all don't believe in segregation and now they put the Oaks on ESPN2 and the Derby on NBC! WHAT KIND OF felgercarb IS THAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *deep breath* i'm done now ^_^ but i'm still :cuss:

Oh, I agree! But I was wrong... they actually showed the Oaks on ESPN, but they talked mostly about the Derby anyways. My favorite to win the Oaks, Elloluv, finished 4th... not bad, considering how fast she was going. Bird Town won... I would have never thought. But maybe this means that the favorite will win the Derby... my dad and I actually agree on who might win (Empire Maker).

Elloluv only finished fourth?! well i guess she burned up too early. But she was a pretty heavy favourite. Oh well. Sir Cherokee was scratched today. so now it's down to a field of 16. Empire Makers still the heavey fav.

She was a pretty solid favorite, but the commentators (who kept making a lot of mistakes) said that it was a pretty well matched field. And she was definately burned too early... she helped to set the new race record! She was pressured most of the way by another filly, and this other filly got the worse end of their little duel. It was crazy. Bird Town came from last place to win.

I'm so excited for the derby tmo! All I'm going to do all day is watch the prerace stuff... that's all I ever do on the first Saturday in May. One of my friends and I used to watch together every year, but then I moved, so now I've got to watch by myself.

I like to watch the Triple Crown events. I also like to choose a horse and see if the one I chose wins. I chose the horse that won the Derby last year, I just can't recall his name now. I think I'll choose Empire Maker as my horse now. It could change by tomorrow though.

lol HAPPY DERBY DAY TO YOU ALL!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D so happy today. Don't tell me the prerace stuff are on ESPN or i'm going to :cuss:

A steady flow of Kentucky Derby fans descended upon the Middletown Kroger's grocery store in Louisville, Ky. to see the creation of the garland of roses that will be worn by the winner of Derby 129 on Saturday, May 3 at Churchill Downs. Representatives from the four branches of the United States Armed Forces - Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines - will present the garland to the victorious horse and connections.

hum... so the garland is made in a grocery store?! and the presentation of the garland will be interesting...

War Emblem? he was a long shot. which kinda showed through in the Belmont. Empire Maker have a pretty good pedigree, but one of the horses in the race (I forgot which one cause i read it on Thrusday) came from Secretariat. You never know, maybe a longshot wins agian this year.

Yes! I was like "hey!!" Very cool. Y'know, there's a tie between the Derby and Alias. Before the Derby, My Old Kentucky Home is sung. My Old Kentucky Home was written by Stephen Foster. Stephen Foster also wrote a song called Slumber My Darling. Slumber My Darling was played on an episode of Alias. :D

wow. you go through all the trouble just to find that out?

Not really. I love Slumber My Darling, so I was looking up the lyrics, and I saw that they were written by Stephen Foster, and I knew that he also wrote My Old Kentucky Home.

I remember some really weird things.

lol. hehe rotflmao okay i believe you... it's wierd how we relate everything back to alias. even if it is only a small part
