Sydney's Fire

“Has he come to yet?” Sydney questioned while still listening to the buzzing noise outside.
“NO! What should I do now?”
“Check his pulse.”
“He has a faint pulse,” Amanda said worriedly. “What should we do now?”
“Let me give him CPR now. You go by the door and listen for anything.”
“Ok,” Amanda said quietly as she got up and went toward the door.

Sydney started giving Brian CPR hoping it would bring him back. It had been eight minutes since Sydney started her CPR on Brian. Things got progressively better and progressively worse.

“Uhhhhhhhhhhh.” Brian took a deep breath and looked around frantically. He was alive.
“Oh my god!” Amanda and Sydney said seemingly at the same time.
“I’m…I’m alive. I thought I saw two angels there coming to save me. Thank you Amanda. Thank you Sydney.”
“You’re welcome. We’re glad to have you back,” Amanda commented.
“Now let’s the get the hell out of here,” a determined Sydney said.
“Right, let’s go,” Brian said as he managed to stand up.

Sydney tried to call Marshall, but he still was not answering. She tried Dixon and got the same result.

“Huh, that’s odd. It’s working hours here and Marshall and Dixon aren’t answering their phones,” Sydney said confused.
“Well, I hope nothing’s wrong,” Brian said walking to the door. “Do you guys hear this?”
“Yeah, that buzzing noise has been going on for a while. We don’t really know what it is, but Sydney has a bad feeling about it. Don’t you, Sydney?” Amanda asked.
“Yes, I certainly do,” Sydney responded as she took the hairpin out her pocket and began trying to pick the door lock and get them out.
“We thought we’d lose you, Brian. It was looking grim there for a while, but we fought and fought and you’re alive now,” Amanda said as she tried to smile.
“I’m certainly glad to be back and I can’t wait to get healed up and move on to greater things down the road.”
“Me too.”
“I got it. Let’s go!”

Sloane and Sark were now on a plane to the Cayman Islands. They would soon meet up with Mr. Napolitano to discuss their next moves.

“In approximately fifteen minutes the Alliance will be no more. I will be in total control of the 23 Rambaldi artifacts I have accumulated so far.”
“Will our next big move be to look for the remaining 24 Rambaldi artifacts?”
“Yes. Without a doubt.”

If only Sydney, Amanda and Brian knew they had 15 minutes to get out of SD-6 HQ. But they forged on and went down to the main hall and found everyone laying on the floor and unconscious. There was a smell of gas in the air. Now there was immediate danger. Besides the fact they had no idea what was in Sloane’s office. It was locked and the glass was covered with thick shades. The buzzing was getting progressively louder now.

“We gotta move, now! I’ll go look for Marshall and Dixon and you two wait here until I find them. They shouldn’t be far.”
“Ok, good luck finding them and hurry,” Brian said as Sydney rushed off to look for them. “I don’t think we can save these other people. There’s really nothing we can do, except to save Sydney’s two friends.”
“That’s so sad, but like you said, nothing much we can do now,” Amanda responded back.
“I found them! Get over here you two!” Sydney screamed as she tried to wake Marshall and Dixon. It wasn’t working too well and she was hoping they weren’t dead. “Amanda you take Marshall and I’ll take Dixon. That’s all we can do here. Let’s move!”

The Firebomb’s buzzing noise was getting louder and louder. It was now one minute left until it released its rage.

They made their way back down the main hall and down to the exit door and threw the door open and moved their way out. Sydney took one last look back at the deception that she was living and then looked forward to the future she was going into. It was like looking into a looking glass, seeing the past and seeing the future.

Thirty seconds.

The building was behind them now and they kept running and running, faster and faster trying to get as far away from the building as they could. Marshall and Dixon had not woken yet and Brian was hobbling along, his wound no longer bleeding, but it was really hurting him.

Five seconds. Four seconds. Three seconds. Two seconds. One second.

Zero seconds.

A tremendous noise behind them shook the ground and blew out all of the windows. A blazing fire soon followed the explosion and engulfed the building and burned it to the ground. SD-6 HQ was incinerated.

“Oh, wow. That’s incredible,” Brian said as he turned and looked back at the building that used to stand there.
“The whole building is gone. Could that buzzing sound we heard have had something to do with the incineration of the building?” Amanda asked Sydney.
“I’m not sure. I think so, but we’re sure gonna find out. I feel happy, but yet I feel sad.”
“Why do you feel happy and sad? Amanda asked.
“Because that was where I felt important. But then I also found out that that place was a lie. I also feel sorry for the people that were lost in there.” Sydney stopped for a moment and thought about Sloane and Sark. “Oh, no. Sloane and Sark are probably out there somewhere. Somewhere we don’t know yet…”
“But we will find them,” Brian said as he finished Sydney’s sentence.
“Yes, we will. Come on, let’s go back to CIA HQ and brief them on what happened.”
“You, you, want me to come, too?” Amanda asked nervously.
“Yes, it’s important. Unless you have a concert to perform or something,” Sydney said.
“No no, I don’t have anything else to do. I won’t have much to do for a while,” Amanda responded.
“That’s good. Just tell them all what happened to you and everything will be fine.”
“Wow, I feel so important.”
“You should. That’s how I felt,” Sydney said as she smiled.
“Don’t forget about me, I’m the one with the gun shot wound,” Brian said laughing.
“Ha ha very funny,” Amanda and Sydney laughed.

Since they had been outside for a few minutes and were breathing clean air, Marshall and Dixon had started to wake up. They had no idea where they were or what had happened to them.

“Syd…Sydney, where am I?” asked Dixon.
“Dixon, you’re outside SD-6 HQ. Now relax, we’re taking you to CIA HQ,” Sydney said as she tried to calm her partner and friend.
“What? Why?” Dixon asked as he stood up and looked at something that used to be there. “What happened to SD-6?”
“Dixon, we will explain it all to you once we get to the CIA.”
“Oh, my head is spinning. I don’t remember much.”
“Don’t worry,” a concerned Sydney said.

“Hey, who are you?” Marshall asked to Amanda as he stood up and tried walking.
“I’m Amanda, Brian’s friend,” she said as she pointed toward Brian.
“Hello, I don’t believe we’ve met before. Nice to meet you two.”
“Nice to meet you also Marshall,” Amanda and Brian said at the same time.
“What happened to me?”
“Don’t you worry about that now Marshall. Just relax, it won’t be long before we’re at the CIA and you can begin putting the pieces together,” Brian said.
“Ok, whatever you say. I’ll just follow along.”

There were new sets of challenges ahead of everyone now. With the Alliance gone, that doesn’t mean everything is safe. Sloane, Sark and Mr. Napolitano were out there and wanting to still wreak havoc on the world.
