I just put all the movies nominated at the Golden Globes this year. PLEASE put what you think, not what you want to win!

Here are my top five guesses and their chances of winning:

1. Cold Mountain 30%
2. LOTR: ROTK 25%
3. Lost in Translation 20%
4. Mystic River 15%
5. Master and Commander 10%

I HOPE the Lord of the Rings wins because it is the last movie of an amazing trilogy!

I hope ROTK because I think it definitely deserves it and Finding Nemo will be in the best animated movie anyway it wont be in Best Picture

All I'm saying is, it had better be ROTK or else!
And yes, Academy...that is a threat! lol
J/K...but Jackson and crew deserve it so much! I would love to see it happen!
Best...Movie...Ever!

Finding Nemo could be in Best Picture (unlikely) Beauty and the Beast was nominated for Best Picture and it was an animated Disney.

Return of the King is my guess.

I think it's gonna come down to Cold Mountain or Lotr:Rotk. I saw Cold Mountain and the movie has Oscar written all over it. I haven't seen Lotr because I've never gotten into it so I can't say if it's Ocsar worthy or not but I know the other two movies have been a sucess and this one looks like it will be a big success too.

Return of the King is my guess.
when Beauty and the Beast was nominated there was no Best Animated Film so they had no place to put it

Cold Mountain will probably win best picture. I hope Return of the King wins but fantasy and science fiction movies usually don't win.

yes but the Academy will receive a lot of felgercarb from a lot of different people, stars, organizations, etc if they don't give Lord of the Rings some recognition if not best picture at least director which usually goes with the same film, we'll have to see. From the beginning this year was to be LOTR's best chance of getting best pic and I think it has a chance.

The damn academy will pay of they don't give ROTK best picture  .

Facts: A third part of a trilogy has NEVER won best picture, and only 2 movies that have ever scored such tremendous box office success (over 100 million $) has ever even won best picture (Titanic was one, I forgot the other one). Roger Ebert said this on some talk show I saw a couple months back. He said the academy doesn't normally choose these movies because they feel that they've already earned their rewards though the ammount of money they made. They prefer to vote for the so called "underdog". (n)

I'm thinking the best bet for Best Picture is Return of the King for a few reasons. Number one, this is a trilogy of epic proportions. It hasn't gotten half as many nominations as it deserved. I'm still waiting for a Best Actor Or Supporting Actor nod for Viggo. Number two, the different issues that Tolkien adresses in his book have such a large scope and impact on today's society. The movie is about things that impact us today and not just a fictious story. Number three, I think the movies (all 3) were so well casted that it took the movie to a whole new level.

But in the back of my head, I have a feeling that Mystic River has a chance to win, too. But I honestly think if the Academy knows what they're doing, they'll look past the commercialism of LOTR and give them the statue this year.

Now the Golden Globes are another story.... :D

I think (and hope) it is LotR: RoK. Without a doubt an epic movie that will be remembered for years and years to come!
