Oscar Best Picture

This thread should be about the unfairness of the Oscars towards Lord of the Rings! I want it to win, but it doesn't even have a chance! It isn't fair!

I know  its the best movie ever created! They just dont like fantasy movies, only ones with deep means

My guess is that you will be in luck. I'm betting Chicago does win Best Picture. I'm sort of boycotting it simply because I think it will beat out Lord of the Rings.

hmm funny how that was a year ago....I'll bring it up for ROTK

this years bets:(for me)

Last Samurai
Return of the King
Master and Commander
Mona Lisa Smile ?
Cold Mountain?

what do you think?????

I doubt it, it is still an epic, and if it does win, it will suck because it doesn't follow the "typical" winning movies, ROTK doesn't but it has been up for three years now. Master and Commander doesn't deserve to win, I've seen it and it was good I had nothing against it but seriously when I got in my car after seeing it I breathed a sigh of relief thinking, "that is no competition for ROTK thankfully" so we'll have to see......

I hope Master and Commander doesn't win, I hated that movie. LOTR was awesome, but I don't know if its best picture material. I don't know what movie could win though, this year was kinda a stinker...no really outstanding movies.

i hope rotk will win, but it's a shame potc wasn't nominated, though i reckon it will come top or second (after lotr) for the people's award!

i was really disappointed that Cold Mountain wasn't nominated for Best Picture. i thought it was excellent.
I know ... such a great movie ... they could have put it in place of Master & Commander ... that movie sucked big time ... (n) (n)

I don't think that Master and Commander or Cold Mountain would be much competition either way you look at it compared with Return of the King; I am betting ROTK will win.

What does make me mad is that ROTK while receiving 11 nominations still deserved a Cinematography Oscar and Sound Editing Oscar as well as a Supporting Actor nomination this year; oh well what's done is done.

I'm betting RotK will win too. They've ignored the LotR movies before, and I agree, this is a year of the King! I think it's gonna win most of the major awards.
