Forever Family

SkyGirl5

Cadet
ok guys here it is
the final part

but before we begin let me just explain how this is gonna work because its gonna be a little bit different

Forever Family is 10 parts long - not chapters but parts
this is because they skip much time in between

see basically i wanted from the end of l2l to the epilogue that was in WM which was basically a 14 year time span but oviously this fic series doesnt need to be any longer or i'd be risking insanity

Sooooooooo one part of this fic will be posted ever thursday NOT every day
so it will take 10 weeks to complete but it will give you a little something to look foraward to on thursdays ;) since apparently that is also the new alias day but whatever dont get me started on that <_<

so here we go:

FOREVER FAMILY

Part 1 – September 17, 2027
“UGH!” Samantha gave a frustrated groan.
Mel laughed as she leafed through the racks of dresses. “What’s wrong Sam?”
“Wedding plans are driving me INSANE!” Sam said. “And it’s not like I have any help because apparently I’m the first person in this family to have a real wedding.”
“Really?” Mel asked in surprise.
“Yes... Grammie and Grampie got married at the court house as did Nadia and Eric AND Mom and Dad when they eloped.” Sam said.
“Oh wow... we are screwed up aren’t we?” Mel laughed.
“Clearly.” Sam sighed. “Ohhh I just don’t know what I want. I wish Mom was here.”
“She’ll be back from her press tour tomorrow.” Mel said.
“I know but I won’t be here tomorrow.” Sam groaned.
“Work?” Mel asked. Sam nodded. “Are you ever going to quit?”
“Well I almost had to when my boss found out Chris and I were engaged.” Sam laughed. “You should have seen his face. I mean he told us to keep our relationship on the DL you know? But marriage kinda complicates that.”
“Right...” Mel sighed. Then she pulled a dress out from one of the racks. “What do you think?”
“Ugh I hate that color green.” Sam groaned.
“Well so do I but I meant the style.” Mel said.
“Umm the style is nice I suppose.” Sam said as she examined the dress. “Yeah I mean if you like it...”
“What about that Sarah girl?” Mel asked. “I mean she’s your other bridesmaid, doesn’t she get a say in this?”
“Well you’re the maid of honor. That makes you specialer.” Sam smiled. “Besides Sarah is too busy with the baby. She said whatever you chose would be fine unless its quote ‘really ugly.’”
“Alright.” Mel smiled. “Well I guess I’ll keep looking...”
“So will I...” Sam said as she walked over to the bridal gowns section. “Oh god Mel come see this.”
“What?” Mel asked as she walked over to her sister.
“Isn’t it hideous?” Sam whispered.
“God yes, who would wear that?” Mel said. Just then they saw a woman coming out of the changing room in the exact dress they had been bashing; it indeed looked hideous. Mel and Sam tried to stifle their laughter but were quiet unsuccessful and the woman in the dress glared at them.
“May I help you?” One of the store clerks asked impatiently.
“Umm I think we’re just looking.” Mel said.
“Which one of you is getting married?” The woman asked.
“I am.” Sam said as she raised her hand slightly.
Then another clerk with an overly large smile came up to them. “It’s so nice to see you two together. I have twin daughters and they just hate each other.”
“Oh, we’re not twins.” Sam said.
“You’re not?” The woman asked in surprise.
“No, just sisters.” Mel said.
“Oh I’m terribly sorry.” The woman said.
“It’s alright.” Sam laughed. “It happens a lot.”
Then the clerks left them and Sam and Mel went back to leafing through dresses.
“So how goes the teaching Mel?” Sam asked.
“Uh...” Mel groaned. “Alright I suppose.”
“You don’t sound thrilled.” Sam laughed.
“Sam, I’m teaching Algebra 1 to ninth graders. How thrilled could I possibly be? It’s not like I’m fighting truth, justice and the American way every day.”
Sam laughed. “I’m not Superman.”
“No but you’re probably better than him.” Mel smiled.
“Thanks dear.”
“No problem.” Mel said. “But no, it’s not that bad. I mean some of the kids are really sweet... other’s are the source of all evil.”
“Right.” Sam laughed.
“But Bradley is really nice...” Mel said with a dreamy sigh. Then she caught her sister’s intrigued stare and quickly said. “I um, mean, uh...”
“Bradley?!” Sam asked excitedly. “Who’s that?!”
Mel blushed. “No one...”
“MELINA!”
“Alright...” Mel laughed. “He’s this other math teacher who was really sweet to me...”
“Cute?”
“Very.” Mel smiled.
“Married?”
“No.”
“Well go for it!” Sam shouted.
Mel laughed. “My god, one inter office romance makes you the poster child for it doesn’t it?”
“Uh no.” Sam said. “Just think,” She said as she placed her arm around her sister’s shoulder. “If you play your cards right, next year all of this could be yours...” She said gesturing towards the wedding dresses.
“Aww poor Dad would be crushed.” Mel laughed. “He’s already so devastated over loosing you.”
“Dad is not devastated.” Sam sighed.
“Oh yes he is. He’s sad about loosing his wittle bwaby Samawnfa.” Mel said in a baby-fied tone.
Sam rolled her eyes. “Thanks Mel.”
“I’m serious. He’s moping.”
“My god he is not moping! Besides he has Mom to cheer him up.” Sam said.
“Ah but Mom’s been away for two weeks. The man is beside himself.”
“And how do you know all this?” Sam asked.
“Uncle Eric.” Mel smiled.
“Oh dear...” Sam sighed.
“Yep... Daddy’s little girl is all growed up and getting married. Oh were did the time go Sam?! Where did it go!?” Mel said as she tried to form fake tears.
“Stop it!” Sam laughed as she started to turn red from the scene her sister was making. “Or I’ll kick your ass.”
“Ohh a threat!” Mel laughed.

“Hey baby.” Chris smiled when Sam came home that afternoon.
“Hey.” She smiled in return as she gave him a kiss.
“How was shopping? Did you and Mel find anything?” Chris asked.
“Well not exactly. But we did almost get kicked out of the dress shop.” Sam sighed.
“What?” Chris gasped.
“Yeah well Mel was making a scene and we were both laughing at ugly dresses and then we knocked a mannequin over....”
“No way!” He gasped.
“Oh yeah... I was mortified. Then we just like bolted from the store.” Sam laughed.
“Oh my god you two like need an escort or something when you go out together.” Chris laughed.
“It’s true.” Sam giggled. “Anyway, so what were your plans for this evening?”
“Um I dunno... I don’t think I have any.” He said.
“Well I was thinking about maybe going and visiting my dad. Uncle Eric told Mel he’s at home wallowing.”
“Wallowing?” Chris asked.
“Yeah well... Mom’s away and the wedding is getting closer...”
“That’s fine Sam. Go visit your dad. I’ll be fine by myself.” He said.
“You sure?” She asked.
“Yep. As long as you promise to make it up to me when you get home...” he grinned as he grabbed her around the waist.
Sam giggled. “What happened to our no sex before the wedding thing?”
“What? You were serious? I thought that was a joke or one of those ‘we should do this but we’re not’ kinda things.”
“Actually, I was serious.” She said.
“But whyyyyyyyy?” He whined.
“Because it makes it specialer.” She said.
“It’s already going to be special Sam. You’re going to be my wife.” He smiled.
“Uh huh. I’m going to my dad’s now.” She said as she walked towards the door. “Take a cold shower.” She winked.
“I hate you...” He called after her in a sing-song voice.
“I love you too baby.”

~*~

“Dad? Are you here?” Sam called when she let herself into her parent’s house.
“Sam is that you?”
“Yeah it’s me.” She said as she walked towards the direction of his voice.
“What are you doing here sweetie?” He asked as he walked over and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
“I just wanted to see how you were.” She smiled.
He gave her a suspicious glance. “Eric?”
“Mel via Eric.” She laughed.
“I’m fine really.” He sighed.
“Good, then you won’t mind me hanging out here.” She said as she sat on the couch.
“Where is Chris at?”
“At home sulking on the couch.” She smiled.
“Sulking?”
She shook her head. “Don’t ask.”
“Alright.” He laughed

Twenty minutes later Sam and her father were on the floor playing with a deck of cards. “Did you hear that?” Michael asked.
“Yeah it sounded like the...”
But she was interrupted by a door slamming. “Sam are you here?”
Sam smiled. “Yeah Mom.”
“Syd?” Michael asked as he got up from the floor. “I thought you weren’t coming home until tomorrow.”
“I took an earlier flight.” She smiled as she kissed him hello. “Hey Sam how are you?”
“Good.” She smiled as she gave her mother a hug.
“Did you and your sister go dress shopping today?” Sydney asked as she took her coat off and threw it on top of the luggage she had brought in.
“Yeah... until we knocked over a mannequin and almost got thrown out of the store.” Sam sighed. Then she laughed at the surprised expression on her mother’s face. “Dad will fill you in. I’ve gotta get home; I’ve got an early flight tomorrow.”
“Alright, be safe Sam.”
“I always am Mom.” She smiled.

and the bashing of dresses.. haha! my girlfriends and i do that too.. i guess all girls do. hahaha~! what is it with us??? and knocking over the mannequin.. she is a CIA agent and yet they bolted from the store after that.. lil incident! hehehehe!!

as for CHRIS and SAM not having sex until the wedding... haha! the part in L2L where sam stripped in front of Chris is stuck in my brain.. and all the loveydovey.. too bad for chris.. *tsk tsk tsk tsk* how long??? now, that IS torture!

Lastly, about Michael.. being saddened about Sam's wedding... *sighs* i guess when we all have our children.. the firstborn to begin with, it would really be hard to let go..
