Mabinogi!

I found out about Mabinogi: Fantasy Life ages ago. I was intrigued despite there only being limited information because it was an asian market game. Particularly the non combat stuff had me very interested, as well as the customization and in an odd way the graphics: I'm a sucker for simpler anime stuff, I have to say I'd rather see a low poly anime character than a super high poly character that seems just "slightly off" to me.

Anyway, here's more information from Wikipedia, and a more concise explanation that sums up why I got interested in this game in the first place. (excuse the grammar, I didn't write it)

Today I typed in "mabinogi" into Google after forgetting about it for ages, and whaddaya know, my wish of an english version is finally coming through. Closed beta period of 6 days starts at the end of the month, and I've been told that hopefully a month after that something more accessible will appear.

I've been so excited about this all day! And because it seemed like it might appeal the crowd here (I'm guessing "grind" isn't the #1 priority for most) I figured I'd tell you people about it.

There's also a character generator that I used to make some pictures of what I hope my character will turn out to look like:

Yeeaah. That's enough rambling from me, because I could go on like this for a while. Hopefully Mabinogi will tide me over til Hero's Journey comes out. :D

Amazing? *tease* It's anime *runs around screaming* eeww ewww ewww

While I may dislike anime it is at least an interesting little game. Daughter would probably love it.

Um, well I know I wasn't trying to be a douchebag. It was just a funny (to us anyway) coincidence to see some form of resemblance? Didn't mean to offend you or anything. O_o

muhahaha Down with anime! Although, the game is rather cute and involved, so keep the game.

FYI...

MMORPG.com, Fileplanet and MMOSite all are offering beta keys in limited numbers if anyone is interested in trying this out. I figured I have nothing to lose so I got my key.

It's a cute game. Son loves the dungeons. I rather like the non-focus on hack-n-slash, reminds me a tad of A Tale In A Desert (not nearly as complex).

Of course... it's anime *screams and pokes her own eyes out* Oddly enough, I'd rather look at anime, which I highly detest, than look at WoW graphics. HAH

I've gotten obsessed with the music playing aspects of the game, I've transposed several songs into MML format already and I'm working on a little program that crunches the text into the smallest size possible.

It also took all my willpower but I've managed to not play in Closed Beta (I did get my account activated cause apparently there's a closed beta title) because I know how I get: the beta ends, it gets wiped, I have to do whatever I did over again and lose enthusiasm.

Plus, more time to focus on the songs bit. I'm so gonna be a bard.

Used to be I love remaking chars and having alts. I've been online gaming for ten years now. One char is in the same game is my preference, as redoing what I've already done (beta or not) quickly bores me. Games don't have a strong replay value for me.

Although, EQ did in the old days despite it being the EXACT same leveling experience. Classes had more defined roles less of this "every class can do sorta do it all" we see a lot of now days. And community. People became friends from grouping ten levels together. Don't see that anymore.

Anyhow, yeah I agree with you. I'm waiting till Mabinogi goes live.

I never will understand why some people absolutely despise anime. It's like saying you absolutely despise statues, or curtains.

... Now you really have to explain that reasoning to me. "It's like saying you absolutely despise statues, or curtains."

*tickles* Come on, explain the relation, what reasoning am I missing?
