Despite it's name Mr. Robot on TNT is a drama and not about a robot (like Almost Human and others).

Here's the official description...

MR. ROBOT is a psychological thriller that follows Elliot (Rami Malek, “24”), a young programmer, who works as a cyber security engineer by day and a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader (Christian Slater, “The Adderall Diaries”) of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the corporation he is paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world. The series also stars Portia Doubleday (“Her”), Carly Chaikin (“Suburgatory”) and Martin Wallström (“Simple Simon”).

The premiere episode was last week and it was actually pretty good. Feedback about the show has been so positive that TNT actually gave the go-ahead for a 2nd season after just one episode.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict a major spoiler because the show has a major case of a deja vu feeling to it.

Spoiler: Kevin's spoiler theory about Mr. Robot

It is Fight Club but for computer hackers! Look carefully at who & how the leader (Christian Slater) of F Society interacts with others -- nobody actually talks to him except for Elliot and when Elliot showed up at the door of F Society the guy opening the door looked directly at Elliot & not even acknowledging Slater's character. When Elliot goes back the next day the woman hacker is expecting Elliot to give her the root access that she needs, not the "mysterious leader" played by Slater. Even the concept of "Nobody talks about Fight Club" is there with there being no references to "F Society" out there on the net and the members meet in secret with all activity taking place only in the designated spot.

It is the same underlying fight against our commercial society that was the heart of Fight Club that is also the heart of Mr. Robot, complete with the voice-over narrative that the main character is thinking but doesn't actually say out loud to anybody.

Even the central goal of the alternative characters are the same... to wipe out bank debt. Instead of physical buildings Mr. Robot wants to wipe the digital records that control our lives. If Fight Club was remade for the digital age, it'd be Mr. Robot.

OK, I was right about "Mr. Robot" but after the last episode I have given up on trying to figure out who is real, who is imaginary, and what events are real or imaginary!

And where did the dog go? The dog better not have been imaginary.

For anybody waiting for this to hit Netflix or Hulu, bad news. Mr. Robot will exclusive to Amazon Prime.

Just watched S2:E7 'eps2.5h4nshake.sme'... what the heck?! How long has he been...? So what about...? Does this mean...? Arrrggh.

Some characters really took a downward spiral in S3.
