I didn't think Superman Returns was all that bad.... But Thundercats could also turn out like Superman (the new one), The Spirit, and X-Men 3 (all horrible films) if the crew making it try to throw in all these emotions and scenes to try to please all audiences at once. ...
in regards to superman returns is the fact that we were all used to chris reeve as the man of steel and having a new person try and step into his proverbial shoes was a big undertaking for hollywood and the director. it is not easy forgetting the superman that most of us knew and loved.
The absence was explained but it was not a central part of the plot. Superman had gone off to explore a distant region of space where it was calculated that the remnants of Krypton would be. "Clark Kent", at the same time, was off deep in the jungle of Latin America and was out of touch from everybody.Yep thats true. The thing that threw me off was the mysterious subject of superman being gone for an amount of time?....I mean what the heck, gone? Was it too much trouble to explain to the audience what the heck they are talking about and why he was gone??? And Louis married and had a kid???? Maybe I missed that part or something or forgot, it's been a long time since I saw that movie.
What, cooler than the "S" logo being torn off of Superman's chest and used as a giant plastic wrap to catch the bad guy in Superman II?The funny thing was it also had the coolest scene yet filmed in a Superman movie. The scene where Superman took the bullet to the eyeball, I mean come on...that was seriously cool!!
