Season 5 New Male Agent

I think that is possible that this guy will be the newbie female agent's love interest and still be good for Syd. Weiss was good for Syd during S3 but was not her love interest. He listened to her and made her laugh. Make any sense?

Yes, but this whole thing is rather disturbing. And since the source of this information obviously dislikes Vaughn and thinks we could love this guy more, my trust isn't all that high right now.

alright...i think i'm just gonna re-state this...to the best of my knowledge there is no confirmation of Michael Vartan leaving (i could be wrong) so we arent in a position to say 'syds new love interest'

TPTB seem to think that both Vaughn/Vartan are easily replaceable and are trying their best to convince us that he wasn't that important to the show. Having a well regarded source say that we shouldn't be surprised if we like this new character more than Vaughn, and that Vaughn was never "FUN", just shows me that TPTB would like nothing more than if we just sat back and forgot all about the character.

The only thing I intend on forgetting about is this show.

i don't think they would try to make him a new love interest for Sydney, i think he would be a better love interest for the new female trainee agent who is played by Rachel Nichols, i think it would make alittle bit more since, but then thats just me -_-

I totally agree with you, I loved this show and will always love season 1-2 the best and I can even tolerate 3 and 4 was ok, but this next season will be unwatchable after Michael leaves.

I have absolutely no interest in TPTB's new version of "Alias" or as it will probably be known in the future..."Alias-The Next Generation". I don't care about the new characters, I care about the old characters that I have loved and enjoyed since the pilot. My viewing time is limited, and the new information we've received so far regarding season 5 makes it very easy to allot the hour I spent viewing "Alias" towards doing or viewing something else.

Hear, hear!

It's all very insulting and disrespectful, both to Vartan and his fans. TPTB have continuously shown little respect to his character or his fans (see all of Season 3), and this is the final slap in the face. They seem to think that we're all hormonal teenagers who'll totally forget Vaughn/Vartan if they simply replace him with some other "fun" male character they consider hot. The only thing I want to forget is everything else about this show.

I hope MV gets a new show that is 100 times as successful as "Alias" ever was. He (and his fans) deserve the last laugh. He deserves far better than the knife in the back he's getting.
