Jeez! Who is that guy? I guess I shouldn't worry about it because I'm not planning on watching the show anymore if Michael Vartan and our dear Vaughn is no longer a part of it.
Um. I don't even think the "new" guy is cute. And who cares if he is fun? They can't possibly write a character as good as Vaughn. I'm sorry, people complain, but Vaughn has delivered some of the best bits of Alias script ever. Hello? There was the
"I have an instinct" speech,
"I'm your ally," "You just threw your beeper in the Pacific/You've got my number," or how about the
watch speech? Or the
Santa Barbara what might have been proposal speech, Or when he told her she looked pretty the first time, or
"As much as things have changed, some things don't," or the real proposal? Man Vaughn gets all the good stuff! ^_^
I don't care what anybody says, Sydney, Vaughn, Spydaddy, and Sloane are what Alias is all about. I love everyone on the cast, but Sydney's relationship with those three,
that is what the show is
really about. Spydaddy and Vaughn in particular, without them, there's no show. I love Spymom too, but she
wants to be a guest and not a regular on the show.
Having said all of that, I will never believe that
anyone close to or in the Alias cast (hint hint you know who) would have had Vartan terminated. We may never know the answers, but I am clear about that fact that the cast members all care about each other and nobody would do that to him. The all important
"Powers That Be" on the other hand, are making a big mistake by thinking that a proposed
"killing off" (or whatever) of a major character will be good for the show. It might increase the buzz, but in the end less of us will be watching. I don't know how that could be good.
Anyway, I'm still hopeful that this is just a big publicity stunt. We've been on roller coaster rides before. Lately though it is beginning to feel more like the river denial that we are riding on... lol... Have mercy on the Powers that Be. Hell hath no fury like angry Alias fans.
