I have been wondering lately about the family relationships in Alias. Anyone else think there things are weird?

-Sydney frequently talking about Emily Sloan as a mother figure.

-Sloan frequently talking about Syd as a daughter (since early first season).

-The odd conversation between Sloan and Irina on the jet in Truth Takes Time. Sloan speaks of his regard for Sydney, angering Irina. "Don't ever talk about your love for my daughter," she snaps. She also says something very cryptic about "the arangement" they have. I dont have the episode right now but if anyone can watch that scene I think you'll know what I'm talking about.

I dont know what to make of any of this but I wonder if Sydney really is the daughter of Jack and Laura Bristow...
All thoughts on the subject are welcome.
 
Syd is obviously the daughter Irina and Sloane.....although sloane shows his love for Emily, I heard that THE MONK tells Sloane that his wife died because of a sin he committed 30 years ago. Think about that one and tell me what you think!
 
Wow. I never thought of that...

I wonder if Jack could handle that kind of a let down after his very depressing life. That would be so horrible.
 
Exactly! One thing I am sure of, if she is not Jack's daughter, Jack doesnt know that. I'm almost positive about that fact. Also, in Second Double, after Jack did a favor for Syd, she gave him a kiss on the cheek, more affection than she has shown in the past. It would be very JJ to lead us on with that, and just as their relationship is improving, tell us he isnt really her father.
 
Jack doesn't seem like he thinks of Syd as a daughter during the show....Sloane seems like he loves her more than Jack does.
 
i'd be mad if syd was the daughter of that creep! but i love their on going relationship...it shouldn't end!

i dont think the sin was thirty years ago was it? and u cant be to shure that sloane is syds dad....its not that obvious although it kinda seems that way...sure he talks bout her alot but....iono...i juss not thta positive...it would kill jack to...to learn that he doesnt have anyone..not even his kid.....
 
That's the point....Jack is left in the dark and turns bad!!!! So Syd is Sloane's daughter and Sark is Syd's brother.....but sark is the son of Jack and Irina....get it? ONE BIG MESSED UP FAMILY!!!

the family isnt THAT messed up....u dont even know that for shure anyways....
 
Sloane asks Jack: "When exactly did our friendship end?"

Jack replies: " the moment you recruited Sydney over my objection"

Sloane says: "I thought so ... if I had known that decision would cost me our friendship and my relationship with Sydney, I would have count this differently ... " (or something like that)

How can he say "my relationship with Sydney" in such a way?
 
eh....not really...thats to many twists...and i dont like the fact of syd and sloane related is to creepy
 
haha.....point well taken....but there has been too many hints of their relationship being more than just coworkers....
 
well...maybe...i don't think jj is prone to acting towards public view for something like this...what do you think those polls on abc are for. theres bound to be co-producers reading all our ideas...and making sure that we are surprised!

and if sark is irina's son...shes awfully cold to him.
