-Chapter 10-

It happened completely by surprise, and while Syd was still working for the C.I.A. It was to be her last mission. A mission that would last a lifetime.

"As you all know this Agent Bristow's last mission. She will be greatly missed. Ala Ramar (the screen turned to a picture of a man in Afghany clothes) is said to have bought nuclear weapons from an American soldier. Details on this man are rather sketchy. Miss. Bristow you will be meeting this man at the El Cafeti resturaunt in Barcelona. Pretending to be a client buying the weapons from him. This could give us very good intel, so do your best. You leave tomorrow."Kendall explained. He closed his notebook, and left the room.

"Goodbye," Dixon patted her on the back. " I wish you much luck."

"Thank You."

Marshall came up to her. "Hey call me, like if you ever have someone after you or something... I'll track them down. "He chuckled. "And I'll miss you.."

"Thanks Marshall," she hugged him causing his face to blush scarlet red.

One by one she told everyone goodbye, until Michael was the last one in the room.

"Part of me will miss it here," she told him.

"Syd, don't have second thoughts. You deserve a regular life." he replied.

"I wouldn't dream of it. See you soon." She kissed him on the cheek, and left before he could see the tears in her eyes.

Barcelona

Dressed in plain black clothing, Syd stepped onto the sidewalk outside of the resturaunt.

"Freelancer, going radio silent," she replied into her bugged dangle earrings.

"Copy that Freelancer," came Weiss's voice.

She stepped into the resturaunt surprised at what she saw.

That's it for a little while. I have to do the laundry, so I'll be right back.

-Chapter 11-

Roses lay all around the restuarant, and the room was lighted by white candles. The dimly lit room was empty except for a brunette haired man who sat in the corner.

"Do you have reservations?" a gray haired man asked interrupting her thoughts.

"Yes, umm... under Mr. Ala Ramar." she replied meekly.

"Ah, yes Mr. Ramar is waiting for you right this way, please."

The man led her to the booth in the back, with the brunette haired man. His head was lowered as she approached.

"Mr. Ramar," she said standing in front of him. Something was so familiar about him, but what was it.

The brunette slowly lifted his head. Michael!

"Michael," she said awkwardly as her heart did flip flops in her stomach.

"I told you we'd eat here someday."

With that he got up, and kissed her sweetly. "Syd, I love you so much, and couldn't imagine asking this to anyone else. Kneeling down on one knee, he pulled out a ring. "Syd, will you do me the honor of being your husband, and marry me."

She looked around the resturaunt, noticing some familiar faces standing behind the kitchen door.

"Syd, say yes," she heard over her communicator.

"Dad?" she whispered.

"Say yes," he repeated.

Looking down at Michael's loving face, she knew there was only one answer to give him.

"Yes," Syd said her eyes brimming with tears. "Yes."

Michael put the beautiful diamond ring on her finger, and they kissed. At this point everyone came out of the kitchen. Francie, Will, Marshall, Dixon, Weiss, and last but not least her mother came out to congratualate the couple.
---------------------
"Oh such happy memories." If only Michael was here now, but he had been missing in action for two years. Two long years." Syd thought returning her thoughts to the present momentarily.

Hope you liked it!

:jawdrop: That totally made up for the goose egg that brick wall gave me. Aww.... that was so sweet!

And Vaughn's gotta come back home to her!!

-Chapter 12-

Three months later Syd and Michael were married in a small church in L.A. Francie was the maid of honor, and of course Weiss was the best man. Forty people attended the wedding, one of which was Syd's mother.

One year later Syd was pregnant with William, named for Vaughn's dad. William grew up with a normal life. Knowing what his parents did, and what his mother used to do. Syd started teaching after William started kindergarten. Michael continued working for the C.I.A., but with less missions, and more free time for his famly. William was a professional hockey player for the L.A. Kings, due to the encouragment of his father. He even got married, and had a small family.

The scapbook was filled with these happy memories of their life. The family lived happy until one day Michael came home.

"What's wrong, why have you come home so late," Syd questioned Micheal sleepily.

"The director asked me to head a new mission. A team, and I will be going to France, and I might be there for months." He joined her on the bed.

"What's the mission about," Syd asked leaning her head on his shoulder.

"After all these years Rambaldi artifacts have just now been stolen from our warehouses. We believe that these artifacts are being taken to France. The director wants me to go, because I'm the only one who remembers much about Rambaldi or the prophecies in the agency." he finished.

"Is it dangerous," Syd looked at him worry in her eyes."Your not telling me something." She realized that he was fidgety, and saw fear in his eyes.

"Sark escaped from the C.I.A.'s care."

Chapter 14

"What," she exclaimed all of a sudden wide awake.

"Yeah. Syd I really need to do this to keep you safe, and my family. Please Syd understand."

She sat silent for a while. She knew why he wanted to do this. Sark was dangerous he needed to be stopped, and her husband was the one who had to do it. "I understand," she said surprised at her own words."but promise me as soon as things start getting dangerous you'll come back to me."

"I promise."

Two days later Syd kissed Michael goodbye to go to France. It was the saddest she'd ever been seeing him go.

"Remember you promised," she screamed out to him as he borded the plane. He smiled, and went inside. That had been the last time she'd seen him almost two years ago.

A month after Vaughn left two men knocked on her door.

"Hello," she answered a mop in one hand, and glove on the other.

"C.I.A. mam." one of the men said getting out a badge. He was tall with very broad shoulders. The other man's hair was burnt colored, and he wore glasses that slid down on the tip of his nose."May we come in."

"Yes please. Is there news of Michael? Is he coming home soon?" she asked nervously as they came in.

"Mrs. Vaughn, I'm afraid we havn't heard from your husband in quite awhile." the man with burnt red hair said pushing his glasses back up.

"So..What does that mean." she stuttered starting to feel sick to her stomach.

"He's missing in action."

The words pierced her heart like thousands of bullets all at once. She felt her knees grow weak as the room started spinning crazily. Next thing they knew she was on the ground, motionless.

Oh gosh my mom's calling. Grr...

-Chapter 16-

The funeral was placed a year later, as everyone who was missing and found was respected. Michael was comemorated with a plaque above all the men found. Although his body wasn't there, she started to give up hope that he would never come back. She even started thinking of it as Michael's funeral.
----------
Syd layed the scapbook aside, depressed and unhappy she fell asleep.
----------
At 2 o'clock in the morning Syd was awakened by a knock on the door. Who would be knocking at this time of night, and in the rain? She got up, and made her way around boxes to get to the door. Taking a breath she opened the door, to find a quite unsuspected gift.

Running out into the rain, she hugged him closely. Michael was back.

This is the end for now, but I'm defintly making a sequel. Or should it not be a sequel, but keep going on from this topic! I don't know, but I hope you enjoyed reading it. I know I totally love this story. I hope you do.

Was it to obvious. Should I have not mentioned the missing in action thing till the 15th chapter. I hope I made the right decision. Oh and please recomend this to people.
