JG was not upset with MV because in another account of the event they said JG looked on in "bewilderment".

It all depends on how you interpret the journalist's interpretation of the event, but I think JG was more concerned for rather than upset with MV, which is evident by the fact that she left the event after VG drove MV home - all stated in Kristin's article.
