I own a Sony 3.2 Megapixel Cybershot camera. It doesn't have a great zoom though.

I'm also studying photography at uni.  :D
awesome!! which uni?!
A french one :P in Caen.
The course also includes : learn how to direct a video.
very awesome! (y) (y)

how you like it?!
Last year was interesting, I wish we could learn more things about photography and video shoots. I'll probably go to a cinema school anyway, after my year as an au-pair girl in the USA. :D

In french it's a DUT Information/Communication, option : communication d'entreprise ; literally the options means Firm Communications.
(English equivalent of a HND, specialising in Public Relations)

So my camera (if I find my bag, cos I almost take it everywhere I go :P ) has a Megapixel 4.0 Effective, Optical 3X Zoom and Seamless 12X Zoom (I don't know what seamless is  )
I think it's a pretty good one.

Someone help...or you all can. ;)

Fuji vs. Canon...who shall victor?

Erm...yes which one is better? idk...but we got the Canon today...I'm not very pleased cause it's clunky and I refused to open it since I have 14 days to return/exchange it. I think the Canon has more features and everything...and my mother said something along the lines of canon being more reputable and better then fuji...while I was looking for something that wasn't clunky...I mean it's honestly not a big difference but like please give me your feedback. But the only main difference is the fuji doesn't give you audio...well there's also this other camera from hp...but it's doesnt seem all that special...hp...but then again it runs on lithium batteries...will that be a hassel?

'will get one soon' for me translates into 'will get one when I have money' which can also mean 'will get one when I win the lottery'. le sigh. :sigh:

but I have been lusting after a digital camera for ages now. I've been eyeing some of the olympus models... any recommendations?

i just checked.. A70. I enjoy the features on it. i think this guy in my class has an A80 though. i haven't bothered to find the differences but w/e.

hmm.. marlene.. i dunno... i don't know too much about cameras but i have a canon and as i said, enjoy the features. mine runs on double a batteries. i have two sets of recharageable though so that way i dont' hafta use one-time use ones. much easier. i'm not sure about yours, but mine has this little function where you can make a 3 minute movie. i use it a lot. so i dunno, i say keep the canon.

We have to live in the US to see the Fuji page. :P

I think the Canon one is the same my bro-in-law has. It's a good one.
Canon is probably more known, but that shouldn't be the reason to buy a diji cam. Mine is an Olympus, and I would have spent much more money for the same quality with Canon. ;)

It is cool.

Guess what ? I gave a nickname to my digi cam today :laughbounce: It's Topho or Tofo (it's the french slang formed by inverting the syllabes of Photo) :P

After Polo, the jellyfish (a nickname I gave to one of my objects), there is Tofo, the digi cam  lmao

I love taking pictures of people ... but I hate when people wanna take pictures of me ... weird ... but thats me ... but I am sure not the only one ... ;)

I do have a Digital Camera ... but don't ask me what brand it is ... gotta find out though ... and will tell you tomorrow

I'm definitely partial to the Canon. I have a make believe one ^_^ I've been doing a lot of reading up on the latest Canons, so I feel like I'm gonna get one even though I have no plans or money to

How much is the A80? I think it's 4 megapixels, maybe $100 more though. The A75 would still be a good choice though. Would you be printing out large pictures? A 4 megapixel camera would be better for printing, and they're larger on-screen tooo (obviously :P).

Canon most likely has more manual features. The Powershot s60 has a lot more than the A-series, but it's $500. The s50 is also a very good camera for a lot cheaper than the s60, but it's an older model and few places sell it anymore, so Staples probably won't have it.

You should go see which camera you like in your hands better, it often comes down to preference. The average camera user wouldn't know how to operate several manual functions, so the auto setting would produce *about* the same results.

coughstickwiththecanoncough

You must love your camera if you gave it a nickname, Sophie

I adore it  And I gave it a nickname only b/c of my best friend, she's kinda weird :o_O: (like me :P )

How much was your camera ? I got mine fo 300€ (= $360,54 right now)
