Through the Looking Glass

ok that was THE felgercarb
i dont have any idea what just happened but it was AWESOME!!! lost totally just made up for any iffy moments season 3 had bc HOLY FREAKING felgercarb!!!

it was all in the future...and ben was right...and whose funeral was that...is sawyer kate's husband?!?!?! OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG i have no words...that was awesome!

LMAO!!! that was soooooooo good!!! i  lost!! i agree with you skygirl about the future thing...however until my mom said but how can it be the future when jack told the other doctor to get his father to see if he is more drunk than jack was, and also the prescription had his dads signature!! however jack could have lied about the signature, and b.c he was so drunk and has been out of it, he might have forgot his dad died (???)...just theories and more questions lol!!...but right from the start i thought it was the future...so we will have to see how that plays out!!...and about the funeral...i was thinking sawyer's, ben's, or maybe locke's (however he probably stayed on the island lol)...and with kate...hmmm...who is he, maybe a child...but if its sawyer holy!! im gonna be beyond happy!! but did anyone else feel really sad that they all worked so hard to get off the island but once they were off they regretted it and wanted to go back (mostly jack...and this is only if that was the future)!!...but that whole idea and concept has further meaning of course for real life....k im babbling, a lot!! lastly i just wannna say im sooooo mad that charlie died!! i cried a tad!! i can't believe they actually went through with it!! anyways hope you all enjoyed it as much as me!! can't wait to hear all your thoughts!! (p.s i can't believe we have to wait like half a year for season 4!! :( )

I didn't really get the whole "future" thing until the end. I just assumed that it was the point in his life that he divorced his wife, and then his dad died right after that or something, which made him go crazy. I also thought that he was going to lose his job because of his behavior, which could still be a possibilty. But the ending blew most of my theory up in smoke.

Anyway, the rest of the episode, while somewhat predictable, still made my heart race during a handful of scenes. I was hoping, praying...expecting that the others didn't really kill Bernard, Sayid and Jin, because I hate those superficial deaths of main (or even supporting) characters where they just get shot in the head or something. Plus I didn't want them to die. ;)

Danielle's reunion with her daughter...Awesome!!! I've been waiting for that one for a long time.

I still don't understand the whole scenario in the Looking Glass station...they killed the others, and then they weren't dead anymore? there's got to be more to that one...by the way, did anyone else recognize the blonde in the Looking Glass? Elsa Caplan from Alias!! It took me a little while to figure it out, but that's who it is. Right when I saw her at the end of the last episode, I knew she looked familiar. Mystery solved!

Well, that's all I'll say for now...I'll have to watch the entire first 3 seasons during this gaping hole of a break! February can't come soon enough....

ohhhhh yes Elsa Caplin!!! thats why she looked so familiar! i just coulnt place her...

anyway, what is up with future!jack being convinced his fahter was alive?! was that just stoned-out-of-his-mind hallucinations? because with the signature on the script, he could have just SAID it was his fathers, thinking the girl woudnt check, and then that doc he was talking to probbly knew his father was dead...or did he? GAH! so confusing

and i was thinking about the mystry funeral...and im guessing its either locke, sawyer, or ben, becuase they're the only ones who would obviously have no one at their funeral... but then again, if -- asumming for a second they were rescued -- i would guess that locke and ben would choose to stay behind on the island if they were allowed....bc locke wouldnt want to go back to being in a wheelchair and ben's just crazy...

then at the same time, we could take a whole nother route here -- "through the looking glass" which, incidentally is very JJ is it not ? ;) what if it was all some sort of freaky island mirage? hmm

but the fact that we have to wait until JANUARY 2008 to find out what happens is total felgercarb... <_< grr @abc
all i hope is that they dont do some sort of lame-ass gilligan's island felgercarb where they FINALLY get off the island only to land back on it in the last 10 mins...that would be so retarded

SGSHTGESKL!!!

That was really good.

The Jack flashbacks are so mysterious... who died? The viewing was in a black neighborhood, so maybe Walt? Was it just me, or did the coffin look small?

And I thought it might be Sawyer's funeral, too. But I think the setting was relevant.

And he says he loves her, but they aren't together in the future! So ha!

Part of me died with Charlie. Oh my God...

And yes, is Jack's dad alive??? Or maybe none of the other people in the hospital know he's dead. MAybe they've been told he's on extended vacation.

That's the second unbelievable Sark-like escape for the eyepatch guy. After all, they only shot him with a knife gun of sorts, and they were planning on using taht on charlie to shut him up/make him suffer, not kill him. So I could see how he didn't die.

If Ben had only bothered to explain WHY the people coming are bad and WHY leaving the island is bad, maybe Jack would have listened. But no, he's stupid.

Both Jack and SAwyer have taken dark turns: Sawyer shoots people too easily, and Jack beats people too easily.

And WHO does Kate have to get back to? I think Sawyer, somebody random, or maybe her parol officer type person. After all, she's still a fugtitive, so somebody might be charged with keeping tabs on her. But why does meeting Jack have to be secret???

i think it was just you thinking the coffin was small... im fairly sure it was regular size
you're right, i belive the setting was relevant, but i still think it could have been Locke

And he says he loves her, but they aren't together in the future! So ha!
um GRRRRR
i was so disapointed by that and im never gonna stop being a Jack/Kate shipper

That was amazing! Yeah I think Jack was just lying about his father being out of town..because his dad is dead when this took place. I knew everything that was going to happen because I always read spoilers..but I loved seeing it play out onscreen. I'm sad that Charlie really did die..but glad Kate lived because I had heard she was supposed to die. It was soo crazy hearing Walt talk because you can tell his voice changed..Gosh we have FOREVER to wait though...

So glad that I'm not alone. That "I love you" part was just so sweet, and we all know that Kate loves him. She just uses Sawyer as a booty call for whenever Jack is on hiatus!

The lady and the boy in the car crash did we get a name? or could it be Claire and Aron, so we all know that it is 8 years in the future?

Not part of the plan: With most of the castaways on their way to the radio tower, Jin, Bernard and Sayid stayed behind to act as dynamite snipers. As the Others approached the tents in hopes of harvesting expectant mothers, Sayid and Bernard set off their explosives, extinguishing several red-shirt baddies. But Jin missed the shot, and Tom, Pryce and another Other used the delay to capture the gunmen.

Losing ground: Ben got the news about the less-than-successful raid, and ordered his men to kill Jin if they couldn’t get any intel on Jack and his group. Bernard sang like a canary, and Ben, with Alex in tow, hit the trail. Meanwhile Richard was instructed to stay the course with the rest of the Others, onward to “the temple.”

He’s baaaack: While it probably came as a surprise to absolutely no one that Locke still lived, his sudden suicidal tendency while lying in the mass grave was a bit of a shocker. Though even that wasn’t half the jaw-dropper as the appearance of his savior, Walt. Well, some kind of vision of Walt, at least. That’s right, barely passing for a kid anymore, the long-lost spawn of Michael talked Locke into choosing life and going for a walk.

A helping hand: After regaining consciousness and dodging bullets, Desmond dove into the watery hatch with Mikhail hot on his heels. Bruised and battered, Charlie got some unlikely help in dealing with Ben’s comm station flunkies from Mikhail. Once Ben’s lies about the jammed signals were known, he ordered the women killed. Mikhail managed to off one of them, before Desmond shot Mikhail with a spear. Shot, not killed.

A hero’s end: With the surviving station attendant giving up the code to deactivate the jamming signal, Charlie got the job done and received a message from Desmond’s girlfriend Penny — she knew nothing of Naomi; she didn’t send her. Just then Mikhail appeared on the other side of the glass holding an active hand grenade. Charlie sealed the door to protect Desmond from the blast. As the room flooded, Charlie wrote Penny’s message on his hand and slapped it on the door for Desmond to read. Charlie, and once and for all, Mikhail, died.

Reunited: When Ben finally reached Jack, he warned that Naomi was a liar. She represented people who would eliminate them all. Ben offered to trade the hostages for her radiophone. No deal, so he told Pryce to kill the hostages. Jack, not aware it was a fakeout, delivered a satisfying and overdue pounding to his rival. With Ben down for the count, Rousseau got her long-awaited, tearful meeting with Alex.

Rescue efforts: Earlier, Sawyer and Juliet broke away from the group and went to investigate the reason for only two explosions back at camp. When they saw the captives, they tried to come up with a plan. No need. Hurley barreled through in the old Dharma van and ran over Pryce.

No more Mr. Friendly: With Pryce out of the way, a still-bound Sayid killed the other Other (with only his ankles!), leaving just Tom standing. With nowhere to run, Tom surrendered. But giving up wasn’t good enough for Sawyer, who shot Tom, telling him it was payback for the adduction of Walt. Dang! As Others go, he will be missed.

Life and death: Once Rousseau’s old message was disabled, Naomi picked up a clear signal and tried to make contact. Seconds later, she was dead with Locke’s knife planted in her back. Locke threatened to shoot Jack if he tried to use the phone. But killing Jack was a line he wasn’t willing to cross, and Jack successfully made contact with the ship. “Sit tight! We’ll be right there,” was the return message.

Flash-forward: Flashes of Jack’s life played out, from working at the hospital drunk and drugged, to seeing his ex-wife pregnant by another man. The doc was at rock bottom, and even came close to taking his own life. After being the only person to attend the funeral of an unnamed, but obviously relevant person in his life, he finally made met with someone he had struggled to reach. Kate! That’s right, this was not a flashback. Welcome to the future, wherein Kate and Jack are off the island and Jack’s obsessed with going back. Consider the game changed.

omg that was soooo good!

Jack's flashbacks were pretty good. i didn't get that they were in the future until the end either. I wonder who's funeral it was... i think it might be Ben's or Locke's.

Oh, Elsa Caplan! So that's who the blonde was. I knew I've seen her before.

I also agree that Ben should have explained why the people who were coming to rescue them were bad...

Wow, that would be an amazing twist if it was Claire and Aaron in the car accident.

Desmond trying to smash the glass with the fire extinguisher to get Charlie out reminded me of S1 finale with Syd trying to free Vaughn...

And I am sooooo mad that Charlie died.....

Oh yes, and Hurley was awesome too!

Hmm... Claire and Aaron? I think not. There was a whole family there, including another older girl/woman. That wouldn't connect for me. Possible, but I honestly doubt it.

And too bad for Jack/Kate-ers! Kate/Sawyer lives on, especially because Jack explains that Sawyer loves her in the same breath as saying he (Jack) loves her (meaning, when he explains Sawyer's motivations for leaving her behind).

And I don't understand how getting rescued can be bad. ARe they all cursed now, dying off one by one (which is why Jack feels so upset by Mystery Person's death)? But Kate seems adamant about getting rescued being a good thing. She wouldn't feel that way if everybody was doomed to die... would she? A curse reminds me of POTC too much, but reverse, of course...

meanwhile here's another question:
why isnt future!kate in jail? The statute of limitations does NOT run out on murder and Kate should have had a one-way ticked to the bighouse after what she did. I'm seriously doubtful that the DA prosecutors would give her a "Get Out of Jail Free" card simply bc she cheated death in a plane crash
plus, the possiblity of her still being on the lam after being rescued from the island in a presumably Gilligan's Island style would be slim... unless she took on someone else's identity but...once again that seems unlikely to take

hmmm

Could it have something to do with the fact that she is "dead"? Remember Naomi told everyone that all the passengers of oceanic flight 815 was dead, they found the bodies. I think there is a rule that you can't frame the same person twice.

And btw, who faked it? So it would look like they crashed another place and they all died? the others? Or is there a third party in all this?

It was definitely one great episode ... and those "flash-backs" that at the end we saw were all "flash-forward" (y) (y)

But it does give us more questions than answers ... how come Kate is not in jail??? what has happened to everybody that makes Jack wanna go back? who is the one in the casket? what happened to Ben? so many questions, so little answers and we have to wait till february to find out ... :(

all in all a shocking twist at the end to make us want more :woot: :woot: :woot:
