that's true. not EVERYONE would be drafted. but i think one of their ideas behind not drafting women was that they didn't want the chance of randomly drafting both of a child's parents.

no, no more draft, we will probably never need it again anyway, so many ppl have volunteered for the service

True, this is a little off topic but it is relevant in my case. A few weeks ago we had a few women saying that women should be allowed into Tattersalls, a club that has been men's only for over 100 years, but when asked if the women should be allowed to be recruited for the army like men, they say 'oh no because who will stay home and look after everything while they are away', so even the women's right's people are double standardising. I think that women should be allowed if it was to be brought back

that, but i'm also thinking that it is b/c women until this time, have always been expected to stay home and care for the house and were considered inferior and less useful to the armed services than the men. yet another example of inequalitycrazy spinster said:

what you're all saying is true, but let's remember that it's not ALL women's rights advocates that are saying this. i don't agree that it's a woman's place to stay at home. yes, there are many people out there who are hypocrites and have double standards, but not all feminists think that way.

Yea I agree but they were saying that they see no reason why women shouldn't be allowed to join. I think all that they are good for is stirring up trouble

nope, but if you want equality, you get equal in everything, not just the things you choose. it's all or nothing, or at least it should be...
