Erin and Aaron are pronounced exactly the same. Erin is the female version; Aaron the male.

No wonder I thought they were mis-pronouncing the name 'Erin' on another American TV show......

I thought there was a slight difference in pronounciation, but appearantly not so.
There's a big difference in prronunciation in Australia and England. Hence why one starts with E and one with A.
 
It was never established that Ethan was an "other", it was just implied because he wasn't on the passenger manifest. Or perhaps the Others wanted both children, with Walt the more valuable of the two, but they were unable to kidnap him before because he was always around Locke
 
It seems to me that Ethan would have to be one of "the others" because he is not part of the castaways. Unless Danielle lied to Sayid and Ethan was part of her group. (but how would that explain Ethan's super strength)
