I have to agree with you, from what I have read the Ben moment seems like something that will make me laugh, the spoiler you posted already did
As for your surprise, I wonder if it's Sydney and Vaughn getting back together because of what the tabloids may have published :Ponder:

Thanks for the PM

She's pregnant and doesn't know who is the father?? Loved the spoilers and can't wait for the chapter

As for your surprise, I wonder if it's Sydney and Vaughn getting back together because of what the tabloids may have published

hmmmm :Ponder: nope. highlight:

Syd's premiere doesn't go as planned. Think Ashlee Simpson in Asia a few weeks ago.:sly:

OMG syd's pregnant???
i hope so, that would be great if she was because then they would have another reason for getting back together aside from the fact that they still love each other!!
cant wait for chapter 5!!!
please please update soon :P

Well guys, here's Chapter 5, even though I haven't started writing Chapter 6 yet. I just felt bad that I hadn't updated in awhile. Please don't get mad if I don't update in awhile, i've been so busy with play auditions (i made a freaking extra/understudy!! all b/c the director's pissed cause i told her off so she gave the role to 'malibu barbie' the stupid rich snobby new girl.) so im not gonna take the part at all haha. I get the last laugh! ^_^ :D So I'm gonna switch my focuses from theatre, back to dancing so I can make Drill Team (dance team) in April

I also have a few new story ideas that I'm working on.

Any questions for 'Ask the Author'? Post them here!

Please give me quotes! I love quotes!! Quotes=spoilers and quicker updates

ENJOY!

Chapter 5

“You look really nice tonight,” Will complimented for the third time that evening.

“Thanks,” Sydney forced a smile as she massaged her forehead. She hadn’t been feeling well that evening and had been throwing up ever since she got up at six in the morning. After popping a few Advils and going to the gym, she got ready for the premiere, but still wasn’t feeling one hundred percent.

Before she knew it, she was walking down the red carpet posing for some pictures in her stunning red Oscar de la Renta gown that Rachel had helped her pick out the week before. She clung to Will; the flashes from the cameras making her even more dizzy than she already was.

“You alright?” Will asked, concerned.

She looked up at his now blurry figure, managed a to walk a few more wobbly steps before collapsing on the red carpet, flashes going off everywhere.

+++++

“What the hell!? That wasn’t a foul!” Eric screamed at the TV while Michael laughed.

“Face it, Eric. Your beloved Lakers are nothing compared to my Rockets. Forty-seven to nothing!” Michael announced proudly as his cell phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket, “Hello?”

“Hi, this is Rosemary Morris. I’m a nurse at Los Angeles Area Hospital. I need to speak to Michael Vaughn,” Rosemary informed him.

“This is him. What’s going on?” He asked worriedly.

“Sydney Bristow arrived via ambulance about an hour ago. I was told to inform you.”

“Is she okay? What happened?”

“She’s fine, but the doctors are running some tests right now. Ms. Bristow collapsed at her premiere this evening and was brought in after a friend and some fans called an ambulance. The doctor on call has decided that it was caused by stress, but she wants her to stay overnight just in case. A man named Will Tippin was with her when she arrived. He was the one that wanted me to inform you of the situation.”

“Thank you for telling me, can I speak with her or Will?”

“Well, at the moment, Ms. Bristow is having some tests done and Mr. Tippin is eating, but I’ll let them know that you called.”

“What was that about?” Eric asked after Michael had ended the call.

“Syd collapsed at her premiere. It was one of the nurses calling to tell me she was okay, but they’re still running tests, just in case.”

“You should go see her, bring her balloons and flowers. She’d like that,” Eric suggested, having given up on Michael being with Lauren. He was also sick of his friend moping around his house. Michael shot him a look. “Man, she’d love that. Look, pretend I’m her okay?” Michael rolled his eyes and said nothing. “Oh Vaughny-wanny! You’re soooooo thoughtful! You brought me flowers and get well soon balloons!”
Michael sustained a chuckle, “You’ve had way too much beer, man. Besides, she probably doesn’t want to make a big deal about it. I don’t blame her either. Collapsing at your own premiere is embarrassing enough.”

+++++

“I brought you smoothie,” Will smiled as he handed Sydney the plastic cup with an unwrapped straw.

Her face immediately lit up and she took it. “Thank you!” Sydney gave Will a hug before the doctor walked into the small room.

“Ms. Bristow, I’m Doctor Natalie Martin,” the petite redhead replied in a soft tone as she shook Sydney’s hand and then Will’s. “Well, everything seems pretty much normal,” Doctor Martin stated as she looked at the test results. “Your fainting was stress-induced. Have you been under a lot of stress lately?” Sydney nodded and the doctor continued, “All that stress is not good for you, or your baby.”

“WHAT?!?” Sydney shrieked.

The doctor’s eyes grew wide. “You mean you didn’t know? You’re eleven weeks pregnant, Ms. Bristow.”

“No, I didn’t know!” Sydney’s mind began working in overtime as she tried to make sense of the situation.

“Well, congratulations then. I’ll be sure to give you a list of excellent doctors in your area as well as some medicine to help you relax,” the doctor told Sydney calmly as she scribbled out a prescription. Sydney looked over at Will to find that he was as shocked as she was. “Get some rest and as soon as the nurse takes the IV out, you’re free to leave.”

“Wow, so uh that’s big news.” Will said after the doctor left the room.

“It’s terrible, Will! I don’t know how this could’ve happened!”

“Well, realistically speaking, you do know how it happened…”

Sydney shot him an annoyed glance, “You don’t get it, do you? You don’t realize what this means. My career, everything!”

Will finally began to understand what she was getting at, “Oh! I get it now! You’re going to be forced to reconcile with Mike.” She shook her head no. “No? Then what does this mean?”

She stayed silent for a moment before inhaling deeply, “I don’t know who the father is, Will.” And then the explaining began….

+++++

“So what felgercarb do they have you taking now?” Francie asked as she picked the prescription up to read it. Sydney snatched it away and ate another spoonful of cereal.

“Anti-anxiety meds. They’re supposed to make me feel more relaxed.”

“Are they working?” Rachel questioned as she flipped through a magazine. Sydney’s posse had come over the next morning to check up on her as well as to fill her in on what she missed at the premiere.

Sydney shrugged, “I don’t know, I haven’t taken them yet.”

“Well don’t you think you should?”

“Nah, I’m fine,” she insisted.

“What was wrong with you anyway?” Rachel asked as she ate a grape.

The dreaded question, Sydney thought. “Just stress,” she lied. There was no way she could tell them that she was pregnant, she would have to determine who the father was first. Then what? She asked herself. If it’s Vaughn’s, what am I going to do? But if it’s Ben’s what will I do? I can’t tell the truth that would look bad on my part. No one knows about Ben except for a few people.

“Hello? Earth to Sydney?” Sydney heard Francie say.

“Sorry, what were you saying?”

“Are we going shopping now?” Rachel asked, annoyed as she glanced at the microwave clock.

“Sorry guys, I don’t feel like shopping today. You two go ahead though, there’s some stuff I need to take care of.”

The other girls rolled their eyes, “Okay, you take care of yourself, alright?” Francie insisted before they left.

Sydney sighed and pulled Doctor Barnett’s crumpled up business card out of her back pocket. Ever since getting home from the hospital at one that morning, she’d been contemplating calling her and asking her advice. Before Sydney could second guess herself again, she pressed the send button.

“Elizabeth Barnett,” Barnett’s familiar voice answered.

“Hi Doctor Barnett, this is Sydney. Do you have a minute?”

“Of course, what’s going on Sydney?”

Twenty minutes later, Sydney finished telling Barnett about the fainting incident and her pregnancy. “And now I have no idea what to do!”

“Sydney, I think you should tell Ben and Michael what’s going on and find out who the father is.”

“It’s not that easy. You don’t understand the risks here. If it is Ben’s, then my affair will be exposed and I can’t have that happen.”

“But what if it isn’t Ben’s?” Barnett shot back. “There’s a fifty-fifty chance here, Sydney. I may not understand ‘the risks’, but I’m sure Michael and Ben will. I suggest you talk to them. I’ll see you and Michael on Tuesday.” Barnett hung up, leaving Sydney contemplating yet another phone call, this one to Ben.

+++++

“Can I get another beer please?” Ben asked the waitress before burping loudly, much to Sydney’s disapproval. “Wow, that one felt good,” he chuckled. “So what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?”

Sydney looked up from the empty beer bottles and greasy French fries and burger that Ben had in front of him, wondering what she ever saw in him. “You know how I fainted last night?”

Ben looked confused as he took another bite out of his burger, “You did? Oh yeah! You did!”

Sydney sighed, “Well I went to the hospital and they told me something I really wasn’t expecting and I think you have a right to know about it.”

Ben’s eyes grew wider, “Oh my God! You have like a week to live don’t you?”

“No,” Sydney shook her head. “Ben, I’m pregnant.”

“You mean as in your having a baby?”

“Yes!”

“Oh, wow. That’s cool I guess.”

“Ben! I just told you that I’m pregnant and you’re ‘cool you guess’?” He shrugged and she continued, “Don’t you get it? I’m pregnant and there’s a fifty-fifty chance that it’s yours!”

+++++

“She’s running a little bit late because of traffic, but why don’t you two go ahead and sit down in her office?” Doctor Barnett’s receptionist greeted the couple on Tuesday morning.

Michael followed Sydney into the brightly lit office and they sat down in their usual chairs.

“I heard about your fainting thing. Are you okay?” Michael asked softly.

“I’m fine,” she insisted stubbornly and she looked back at the door when she heard the familiar sound of heels clicking on the marble floor.

“I’m so sorry I’m late. Traffic was just terrible.” Doctor Barnett apologized as she walked to her desk and set her cup of Starbucks down.

“It’s alright, we were just talking,” Michael informed her.

Barnett smiled, “I’m so glad to hear that you two were able to have a civil conversation. It shows you’ve been making progress,” she paused and looked over at Sydney. “So is this the first time you two have spoken outside of sessions?” Both of them nodded silently and Barnett wondered if Sydney had spoken to Michael about the baby, but she didn’t dare bring it up. “Well, today we’re going to start talking about when things started getting serious,” she glanced down at her blank notepad. “Sydney, why don’t you tell me how he proposed.”

“We’d been dating for about six months when he proposed,” Sydney informed her.

+++++

“Hey birthday girl, time to get up!” Michael said happily as he stood by Sydney’s bedside holding a tray of chocolate chip pancakes.

Sydney woke up and grinned. “You’re the best!” she exclaimed before wrapping her arms around Vaughn and pulling him on top of her.

“Hey, the pancakes took awhile to make you know,” he replied as he carefully set them down on the nightstand before kissing her.

She giggled against his lips, “We have a microwave. We can reheat them.”

“All that time spent slaving over a hot stove just for them to be reheated in a microwave? That doesn’t seem fair to me,” Michael whined before Sydney kissed him again. “I take that back,” he replied with a smirk.

~A few hours later~

“That was a really nice birthday present,” Sydney smiled as she brushed some hair out of her face and laid her head back down on Michael’s bare chest.

“Well, there’s something else,” he replied, a hint of nervousness present in his voice.

“You’ve already brought be breakfast and,” she blushed and decided not to mention the other gift. “What else is there?” She questioned as she watched him reach into the nightstand drawer and pull out something.

“Moving on to round four already, Mr. Vaughn?” Sydney asked with a small smirk.

“No,” Michael replied seriously as he turned back so he was facing her, a small wrapped box in his hand. He handed it to her. “This is your other present.”

Sydney smiled as she slowly undid the lavender wrapping paper and opened up the small velvet box from Harry Winston. “Oh my God,” was all that she could say as Vaughn took the box from her.

“In the beginning I didn’t know if it could work out, but it has so far and I want it to last forever. I love you so much. I don’t care if I have to give up the pizza place; I want us to last forever. Will you marry me?”

“Yes!” Sydney exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around him again and kissed him while Michael slid he ring on her finger and the two of them moved onto round four.

+++++

Sydney sighed as she relieved that moment. It had been one of the happiest moments of her life; first place taken by their wedding day and the long honeymoon that followed.

“Wow, that seems quite romantic,” Barnett remarked as she jotted some notes down.

“It seemed like a good idea at the time,” Michael commented although he silently wished that they really had lasted for forever.

“Well then, I’d like to ask you a few questions, Michael. How are you feeling? Thursday you found out about Sydney and Ben.”

Sydney cringed at the sound of his name, but listened to what Michael had to say, which was anything but romantic. “At first I was, well, furious. How could she kick me out of our house for a week when she found out about Lauren – which was, by the way, a one time thing – and at the same time, she was cheating on me!” Barnett nodded and he continued, surprised at how open he was being. “But then I sat down and asked myself something. I asked myself ‘what did I do wrong?’. Clearly if my…my wife was cheating on me then I obviously did something wrong. I just wished that I would’ve been able to fix that problem before things escalated.”

“I am so happy to hear that from you, Michael. It means we’re making progress,” Barnett repeated what Sydney was learning was her catchphrase. “I’d like to see you two individually from now on, starting the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Sydney, stay a moment.” She waited until Michael had shut the door behind him before continuing, “Did you talk to him yet?”

“No,” Sydney stated.

“Do you plan to?”

“I haven’t decided yet.”

“Have you talked to Ben?”

Sydney nodded before adding, “I don’t want to talk about this, if you don’t mind. For personal reasons.”

“Personal reasons meaning the accident a year and a half ago?”

“Yes, and I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t bring it up ever again.”

“I’ll see you the Tuesday after Thanksgiving,” Barnett reminded as Sydney got up and left the room.

Sydney Collapses at APO Premiere!

Sydney Bristow, 25, collapsed at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie APO last Saturday evening. She was rushed by ambulance to Los Angeles Area Hospital where, sources report, she underwent tests.

“Sydney is fine. She has a tendency to over-exert herself,” Bristow’s camp released a statement on Sunday morning.

The newly separated starlet filed for divorce less than two weeks ago from her hubby of two years, rising star Michael Vaughn, 28. This brings us to our next question. Who escorted her down the red carpet? None other than close friend and lawyer, Will Tippin, 27. Tippin also stayed with Bristow during her brief emergency room visit.

APO brought in a decent amount of money this week at the box office. The espionage adventure placed number two and earned nearly thirty five million dollars.

Lauren Reed’s Latest Accessory

Playmate Lauren Reed, 23, is waving her hand around any moment she gets. No, she’s not saying ‘Pick me! Pick me!’ she’s showing off the huge seven carat pink diamond ring Michael Vaughn gave her.

According to sources, the newly single hunk gave her the ring as an attempt to silence her claims about a reported sex tape they made while Vaughn was still married to Sydney Bristow.

“She came in with a few of her friends and started showing off this huge ring. She said, ‘Look what Michael gave me! He thinks this is going to keep my mouth shut about the tape. I’ve already got a great deal on it! There’s no way something that amazing is going away as quiet as he thinks it will.’” an anonymous source claimed.

Am I first??? I really hope that Syd tells Vaughn about the baby! I also hope that the baby ends up being his, not Bens! After the way he acted, he doesn't care about her, he just want to get some! And what happened a year and a half ago??? Did she have a miscarrage or something?

Great chapter! Update soo!

Megan

Edit: Syd's engagement ring was gorgeous! I'm jealous! Where did he get a ring that expensive if he only owns a little pizza place!

PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ get syd and michael back together, they belong together, ben is a drunk and shouldn't be even allowed to care for himself, let alone a baby, more again real soon plz!!!

that sux that she doesn't know who'd her baby's daddy, sux to be her, hopefully, for her, its not the ben in the story, bc that would just be bad

wow, sydney and vaughn are really screwed either way
hehe great chapter
thanx for the pm
can't wait for more

The baby just has to be Michael's!! PLZ PLZ PLZ

Sydney is so out of character in this fic, she should care more about her relationship w/ Vaughn and the baby than her career!!!

Thanks for the PM.

That baby better be Micheal's and not Ben's... PLEASE!!!! Great update, at least Micheal is starting to open up about this, although, Sydney still seems stubborn... Can't wait for the next chapter :D

Great update.. Can't believe Lauren.. what a b..ch. I have a feeling things for Syd and Vaughn are gonna get worse before they get better.

Thanks for the PM

That was great ... Syd soo needs to tell Michael about the baby ... I mean if she can tell Ben she can tell Michael ... love that he asked how she was feeling ... Lauran is such a hoe ... thanks for the PM ... more soon please

“Can I get another beer please?” Ben asked the waitress before burping loudly, much to Sydney’s disapproval. “Wow, that one felt good,” he chuckled.
