The dems cant win when their message is "Bush is a douchebag". But the funny thing is, that's the best they can do, they can't say what they think about the issues becasue they lose in the arena of ideas.

That's not the best they can do. Bush is an easy target, and with his approval rating where it is now, they may very well win with an anti-Bush message. I do, however think that they need to lay out clear reasons why they'd be a better alternative to the Republicans. Although I think many Republicans are going to distance themselves from Bush, and Democrats need to be prepared to counter with their own ideas and reasons why they'd be better. I think they can do it, but they do need to start getting their act together.
