ok here's an update. i dont lke how its written but i didnt have time to go back over it.
Chapter 2
Sydney turned to Vaughn.
“Vaughn?”
“We’re pregnant,” he said as a smile crept over his face.
Sydney smiled too and he leaned over to kiss her. “I love you,” he said.
“I love you too. So much.”
“Your dad’s gonna kill me, huh?”
“He’s really not as bad as he seems.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah. Come on, they said I could check out.”
“You sure you’re ready?”
“Positive.”
“Okay. Carrie brought you some new clothes,” Vaughn said, picking up a shopping bag. “Most of your things were destroyed in the fire.” Sydney nodded and took the bag from him. A few minutes later she emerged from the bathroom in fresh clothes. “I’m ready.”
“You look beautiful.”
Sydney blushed. “Thank you. Now let’s go. I’ve had enough of this place.”
“Good. Me too.” Vaughn smiled.
Sydney and Vaughn signed all the necessary papers and headed out to Vaughn’s car.
“So where am I staying Agent Vaughn?” Sydney asked.
“Well, there’s a motel up the road. I thought I could drop you off over there.”
Sydney glared at him. “Sounds good to me.”
“Oh come on baby. You know I wouldn’t make you do that. You’re staying with me.”
“You sure that’s not an ‘inappropriate move’?”
“I’m sure Syd. This time, I’m sure. You’ve never seen my apartment so it’s about time.”
“Yeah, it is about time.”
It was Vaughn’s turn to give the death glare.
“Keep your eyes on the road Michael!”
Vaughn turned to face the windshield with a smile on his face. “What?” Sydney asked.
“You called me Michael. I kind of like that.”
They pulled into the parking lot of Vaughn’s apartment complex. Vaughn took Sydney’s hand and led her to door 47C.
“So this is where you live?” Sydney sked.
“Yup. This is where I live.”
“It’s nice.” Sydney walked around. Every room was bright and filled with color. There were paintings and mirrors on every wall. It wasn’t anything like she had expected.
“So you think you’ll survive?” Vaughn asked.
“As long as you’re here that’s all that matters. But for the record, I approve.”
“Thank you.” He kissed her lightly. “I have to go in. I missed a lot of work we have the next week off so I’ve got a lot to do. and and me.”
“We? As in…?”
“As in you and me.”
“Why do we have so much time off?”
“Cuz we are vacationing.”
“What? Where?”
“Why Santa Barbara of course!”
Sydney’s face brightened and she jumped into Vaughn’s arms. “Don’t be home too late!”
