Chapter 4
MARSHALL'S APARTMENT
"Jack, what's wrong?" Dixon carefully asked. Jack had a a severe look of hatred and disgust on his face that would make anyone ask what's wrong.
"Nothing, I just forgot about something at work. I've gotta run into the office, I'll be back in 20 minutes, anything we need while I'm out?" Jack replyed, not looking at anyone, keeping his eyes focased on a window that opened to their hallway.
" Yea, could you pick up some party hats, I just love those things. Are you sure you're okay Mr. Bristow?" Marshall said looking at Jack curiously.
" Yes, Marshall I'm fine. I'll stop by the party store and pick up some hats. Bye."
Everyone looked at Jack with uncertainty, just a second ago he was laughing with the rest of them. Then , like a trigger, he was furious. After Jack left, no one knew what to say. Finally Marshall broke the silence.
" Well, um, that was weird. Does he always act like that?"
" Not usually, something must have upset him." Dixon said, still confused.
" Well he'll just have to tell us when he gets back, we have work to do guys!" Carrie said lightly, she didn't know how else to get everyones spirits up again.
"Yea you're right, lets get back to work!" Marshall said.
ON THE WAY TO SYD'S APARTMENT
Vaughn didn't know what he was doing. How exactly was he gonna put his feelings into words? What was he going do?
He sighed and looked up to see someone flashing their head lights at him, so he pulled over and so did the other person.
He was surprised to see Jack get out the car.
" What the hell were you doing back there? I don't think you were invited to Marshall's apartment you son of a b****."
Vaughn just looked at Jack. He should have known, Jack doesn't miss a thing.
" Are you going to answer me Vaughn?" Jack said, anger blazing in his eyes.
" I don't know, I just found myself there." Vaughn said as innocently as he could, trying to avoid Jack's glare.
" Don't lie to me. I told you to stay away from my daughter!" Jack yelled.
" Well I can't do that!" Vaughn yelled back.
" LEARN HOW THEN!" Jack yelled, his face red with anger.
" I will not stay away from Sydney, Jack. I can't . I tried. I still love her. Are you happy? Yes, Jack, I still love her."
" Vaughn, I already knew that. Everyone does. You should see the way you look at her, the longing in your eyes. The only person who doesn't know you still care for Sydney, is Sydney."
" I don't know how to do this Jack." Vaughn said, now tears silently falling from his eyes.
" I think you know what to do." Jack quietly said.
Vaugn nodded and got back into his car, he knew what he had to do.
VAUGHN AND LAUREN'S APARTMENT
When Vaughn walked in, Lauren was sitting at their kitchen, crying.
" Micheal, I'm so sorry." Lauren said weakly.
" Honey, what's wrong?" Vaughn said, concern and worry in his eyes.
" I've fallen out of love." Lauren said through her tears.
" Wait, what? who? when?" Vaughn said , never being so confused in his life.
" Micheal, I don't love you, I love someone else. I've tried to hide it from you, but my morals have gotten over me. I've been cheating on you ever since we met. I'm so sorry." Lauren said quietly.
"WHAT?!?!" Vaughn yelled.
" I think you knew, honey. You just couldn't see what was right in front of your eyes." Lauren said.
"Fine. So you're just gonna leave?" Vaughn questioned, through tears.
" Yes, and you will never see me again." Lauren said with no emtion.
" Then I suggest you pack your bags and go." Vaughn said through gritted teeth.
" Yes, I shall." Lauren said , picking up her already packed bags.
IN LAUREN'S CAR
Lauren dials a number and waits until someone picks up.
" Yes?" says an unknown voice.
" I have broken up with Vaughn, all he has to do is sign the divorce papers I left in his room."
"Very good. When are coming?"
"Now. Sark, its wonderful to be free."
" Yes, Julia, the best day of my life will be when I can kiss the real you."
" I love you so much." Julia ( Lauren) says.
" I love you too darling." Sark replys.
SYD'S APARTMENT
Weiss's cell phone rings while him and Syd and watching TV and drinking beer.
" Weiss."
" Weiss, it's me, Vaughn. Lauren broke up with me, can I come by?" Vaughn says. Weiss can tell he's been through alot because he voice was shaking, Weiss had not heard his voice shake since they thought Sydney had died.
" Yea, I'm at Syd's. Do you to come by here or want me to meet you and my place alone?" Weiss said.
" I'll be at Syd's in 10 minutes, I need to talk to her too."
" Okay, Don't worry man, everything will be okay." Weiss said to calm him.
" I hope so." Vaughn said with uncertinty and hung up.
" What's wrong?" Syd asked.
" Vaughn is coming by, Lauren just broke up with him and he needs us, is that okay with you?" Weiss questioned.
"Yeah, it's fine. Is he okay?" Syd said. Weiss could see the concern and worry in her eyes for him.
" I hope so. He's lucky to have someone he hurt so much still love and care for him, especially someone like you." Weiss said smiling.
Sydeny blushed and heard a knock.
" That's him, I'll get it." Syd said.
She opened the door, and hugged him.
" Vaughn, everything is gonna be alright." Syd said as she hugged him.
Vaughn pulled back and looked into her eyes. Syd could see he had been crying because he beautiful green eyes were brimming with tears.
" As long as you're in my life, I'll be fine." Vaughn said and pulled her back into another hug.
