Chapter 9~ Don't Hide the Truth
Liberty knew that they were watching her. She didn’t know how but she could see through the mirrored glass. She had always been able to see though it, but never knew how. She guessed the man with Vaughn was Jack. She saw his face. It had a distraught look, very dull with blots of concern, and seriousness. She started to write in her journal but made sure that it was in Russian. She wanted to write in Arabic, but her ancient languages were rusty.
She tried to hide her real feelings, but they spilt out like a broken dam. She had written down everything. She saw that jack could read what she was writing. She decided to write a little note to him just to show him that she could see right through him.
These people. Especially the new one, Jack, doesn’t believe everything he hears. They have had pain and deception. Something very bad has happened to poor jack. He wants people to feel bad for him but he himself doesn’t want the attention. He is scared of something. Maybe it's me. He is nervous around Vaughn and vice versa.
She thought that would get his attention. She was right at one point of watching her he grabbed his head in his hand and sighed. Liberty felt bad for him. He was just a man. He had been deceive and hurt. But he had gotten what he deserved. He had hurt and deceived many other people also.
She could tell he had hurt Vaughn. They wouldn't even look each other in the eye. She could see the despair in both of their eyes.
She could see that jack was concentrating very hard. She knew what it was about. Her. She had been thinking the same thing the night before. She had tossed and turned all night.
They might think that I am pretending to be the missing agent. Pretending to not remember anything. Pretending to make them believe that I am her.
(A/N: this is one really confused thought. Don’t complain about what it means, it supposed to be confusing.)
They were wrong about her. She was so honest sometimes it hurt her. She thought about this for a while. She could be a suspect. Of what she didn’t know, but what ever it would be it would involve espionage and deception. The two words that had ruined her life. Most people usually wouldn’t associate those two words with their “normal” life. Maybe taxes, careers, children, husband, sometimes even government.
So she sat, analyzing Jack’s gaze. He was trying to do the same to her. It was as if they had inherited from each other. Then seeing that Vaughn was watching her she ran her hand through her hair. It was matted with knots. She wished for a hairbrush. Usually she didn’t care about those things but she felt so unprofessional.
Then she saw Vaughn look at Jack with a sad glare. Then he stalked away. She felt the force that separated them. The very same thing that had joined them, she guessed. The missing agent, Sydney Bristow. Now Liberty was going to find as much as she could about this agent. Everything.
