Chapter 132
Vaughn walked into the house, half expecting to see Sydney having packed up and left. He walked to the living room and smiled as he saw Sydney sleeping with Cathy in her arms, the television was still on and there were open bags of chips and candy all over the room.
Vaughn walked over and lifted his sleeping daughter up, making sure she remained asleep while he carried her up to her room and put her in bed, kissing her forehead sweetly.
“Sweet dreams Angel” he whispered before walking downstairs to his sleeping wife.
Vaughn took a seat on the couch where Sydney was asleep; he took her hand and held it in his own.
“Syd, wake up” Vaughn stroked her cheek gently, causing her to stir.
“Hmmm” Sydney mumbled.
“Sydney, wake up” Vaughn whispered again.
“I’m up” Sydney groaned, opening her eyes and sitting up slightly, “Michael” her tone was still angry, hurt.
“I’m sorry” Vaughn whispered, kissing her hand gently.
“Hmph” Sydney shrugged.
“Baby, talk to me” Vaughn placed his hand over her swollen stomach.
“What can I say?” Sydney looked at him, “I used to be your everything”
“You still are” Vaughn told her honestly.
“No, I’m pretty sure you are the one who told me I wasn’t” Sydney whispered.
“Baby, I said something I didn’t mean, come on” Vaughn sighed.
“Are you sure you didn’t mean them…I can’t be sure anymore” Sydney told him.
“Sydney Anne Vaughn” Vaughn looked at her, “if you think I don’t love you then walk your ass out that door, because you know its bull felgercarb, I love you more than anything in the world”
“I love it when you tell me that I’m wrong” Sydney let a tiny smile break her lips.
“I love you” Vaughn brushed a piece of hair out of her eye.
“I love you too” Sydney smiled, “where’s Cathy?”
“I took her up to her room” Vaughn told her, “you two were watching movies and getting drunk off candy?”
“Yeah” Sydney nodded, “I took her out for ice cream”
“Did you know that you are the mom every sane kid wishes they had” Vaughn whispered.
“No I’m not” Sydney shook her head.
“Fine, but you’re the wife every guy wishes he had” Vaughn told her.
“No” Sydney again shook her head.
“Well, you are the only wife I could ever want, and you are the only mother Cathy could ever want, and this unborn baby doesn’t even know how lucky they are yet” Vaughn kissed her gently.
